What is the thickest/heaviest knife you'll carry inside pocket?

Yeah, weight is the issue with me too - Not so much the size. That is the reason I usually find myself reaching for my either my CS XL Gunsite, or XL Clip pt. Voyager over either of my Sifus when I want to clip on a big folder.

Down inside my front pocket, I'd have to say probably my Case RussLock.

All of the right rear pockets of every pair of Levis I owned from circa 1978-81 had a hole worn from a Buck 110. Now I'll clip carry a Spyderco Wegner or a CS Vaquero (w/ self-attached CS aftermarket clip). anything bigger/heavier gets a sheath.

Would you believe that I carried a Victorinox SwissChamp in the front pocket of my jeans for several years? Wore holes in a lot of pockets that way. It's thickness was actually greater than the width of its scales! Not exactly light either...

Clipped to pocket: 710

A Boy Scout utility style knife is the largest that I would carry in my pocket and I would not usually carry that in a belt pouch.

I am like David, bigger the better. Don't worry David I been hearing that same old over compensating thing too. I used to have a couple of Crawford Leopards that were built on the large size. I had Pat to build these with a 6" blade at 3/16" thick steel. Add a ti frame and some wood overlays and that was a knife! Guess that was the largest I ever carried on a regular basis. Alas, some one else now carries that piece.

Right now the largest/heaviest piece is another Crawford. I carry a large Kasper with the titanium frame. The size don't bother me though. I like the way Pat mounts his clips up high. A second Kasper with some stag overlays would not only be the heaviest but also the thickest if I were to send it to Pat for a pocket clip. Still might since this is the best looking Kasper I've seen in a while ( I have a thing for stag ).

Another sorta heavy knife is the Boguszewski/Wegner Pro Hunter that splits time with the Kasper. I carry a black micarta dual liner version but also have a green micarta version that is a little bit ( 1/16") thicker. It has thicker liners. Surprisingly the titanium model is the thinnest of the three. I had a picture in my mind that it would be a bit thicker, but I'm not complaining.

Just some thoughts and ramblings on a Friday night...uh, Saturday morning.

The biggest knives I've ever carried are an 5 inch Ontario army survival knife, and a 14" Spanish bayonet...then again, I was just a dellusional young kid who had finished seeing Rambo; Thought I was some sorta tough guy carrying big knives while I rode on my BMX bicycle (boy was I wrong).

I'm now happy carrying a lightweight Spyderco Native.

Ken Cox, I have 5 John Greco knives and my favorite is the boot knife, I believe its the persian w/black sheath like yours, although I strap it to ankle instead.

Greco knives are the best knives for concrete combat or anything totally like (if you have to stab all the way through, and the tip is gonna hit the street, type situation. These knives are virtually INDESTRUCTable!

Greco just got a phone not to long ago. He lived in a cave for years making these things.

I would also like to add that the CS Scimitar rides very nicely in my pocket (maybe because of the curved shape. It is also VERY easy to remove from my pocket-with the big pommel sticking out, although it isn't very conceilable.

I have several 5"+ folders that I carry regularly.

Heh, I don't think that 5"+ folders can be considered OVER compensating
