What is up with the Raja II?

I agree with all you said 42 except for the compact part... :p

Even when folded the above knives are still pretty huge. :D;)

It's a lot more compact than a machete.
There's an XL G-10 Espada in my backpack right now that I forgot I had in there.
I wouldn't have been able to forget a machete in there. ;)
And the XL Espada makes the Rajah 2 look small.

Good point, I was only comparing the Rajah II and XL espada to other folders. You'd have a hard time shoe horning a machete into a back pack for sure but it's worth trying... :D

Funny that the XL g10 is about the same weight as a Rajah II so I could see why carrying it is an advantage over the RII with the added reach of the XL espada. (see below)

The XL espada is not that much bigger.;)

I used to work at a very high end liquor store. My boss was anti-gun. So always kept my rajah in the storage space near the register... One late night, a regular customer came in with a biker face mask on. I didn't know who it was at first but he had tight clothing on and I could easily see that he was not packing heat. I figured, he must have a knife or a tazer on him. To be honest, I was pretty scared. When he got close to the register, I mean really close, I snapped out my Rajah and wrapped the lanyard around my hand. He nearly crapped his pants. He took off his biker mask and said "woah! Its just me!" Never saw the guy again after that. I really think he wanted to rob me but I guess I will never know. Maybe I just scared the crap out of a customer who was dumb enough to forget to take his mask off

For some reason this made me think of the movie Falling Down with Michael Douglas, when he goes into the convenience store and tears up the place.

Dang, sounds like a close call for sure. Glad you got through your shift.

Precisely. :)

I received one for Christmas last year from my in laws,it was kind of a joke since it's so big and crazy. Me being a knife obsessed overgrown child I took it to work clipped in my carthart bibs. Walking through Himalayan blackberry's to fall some blow down snags I pulled it out and blazed a trail. My two other coworkers now carry Rajah's the same way and there not knife people just working stiffs. I always laugh to myself when they pass around pay checks on Friday and those two open the envelopes with a Rajah.
Respectfully, Chance.

Holy crap, that espada xl is sick. Does it pocket carry as decent as the rajah?

Nah, the Rajah carries easier.
You need really BIG pockets for the Espada XL; I have 2 pairs of pants it will fit in.
The Rajah is really the limit for comfortable carry with most pants, at least in my experience.

I want to get another Rajah 2, this time with the stone-washed blade.

One thing I do like about it sticking so far out of a pocket when clipped on is that there's plenty of real estate to get a grip before pulling it out.
