What is up with the Raja II?

Umm, where are you shopping that the Rajah 2 goes for $400? Mine cost $85. Sure you're not looking at the Rajah 1, which goes for a lot more cause it is now discontinued?
I got lucky with my rajah 1.Coldsteel sent me an email when discontinuing them... $99.
I always thought it was cool but they where originally around $300 I think. Then a week or two later they sent me an email for two of them for final discount $150! Unfortunately hindsight is 20/20. I must have had something wrong with me because I listened to the wife and did the "right" thing and didn't order the extra two. Lol damn.

If I had to.pull.out my rajah, id want it to be threatening. In fact, id want it to be dominating. Oh, and I can carry anything I want in the way of knives with no.fear of jail time so.I don't really care about.it being threatening. :p

Oh yah, and I have a few other knives when I don't want to be threatening.

things are a little different here in the States. if u were carrying that thing around in the ny tri state area and got caught with it, you'd be in the slammer faster than you can say switch blade. :p

no one needs anything this big that is a folding "knife"

Sure am glad someone showed up to tell everyone else what they need.

I'll play too. :)
You don't need a car (I don't have one).
You don't need a good paying job (mine isn't).
You don't need a house.
Or kids.
Or a dog.
Or RRSP's.

You will not die from not having those things, so you obviously don't need them.

If the world was only full of things we need, I'd wish to be dead.
Thank God for a world full of unneeded things! :)

Cold Steel has stopped with the bead blasted blades and started doing stonewashed on the Rajahs, the Spartans and a few others, I think the Espada series as well, When those are in stock I'll be the owner of a Rajah 2 and either an XL espada or a large Espada. Do I need it ? Nope , Is it my right as an American citizen and legal under my state laws to own and carry such blades? Damn right , nuff said...

The only thing I need is a bomb vest. That way wherever I go people will know not to mess with me. Forget a 7" folding knife. I gots me a bomb vest.

Forget decom rides man you can legally buy and own new armored vehicles in the US. An SUV with a shell is gonna run you a slick 100 gs but you can get smaller rides for around 30(slightly more if you want a turret). Just make sure you shop around because life saving armor is not really something you want to overpay for. Cheaper than dirt may have that bomb jacket now that I think about it....:suspicion:

Well, too bad, all I can say is don't hate on the knife because you have lousy politicians. :p

not hating on the knife, but it is fugly looking. :p i was making a point to your post, and in a way i'm glad that people can't walk around with machete like knives out in the open otherwise it would be nuts.

People are walking around with all kinds of stuff right now, concealed and not concealed and it's not nuts. Sure bad stuff happens but, that's a cornerstone of civilization: you don't know what the other guy has. We should all be good to people everywhere because you never know what the other guy has his hand is on in that pocket. Umm that actually sounds kinda weird doesn't it?

we're talking about machete like knives and larger types and in the nyc area, they're not walking around with this kind of knife out in the open.

I guess you think.that the guys who open carry busses and swamp.rats are nuts too. Or is that different because they're not cold steels?

And what about the guys who CCW? Are they nuts too? Or is a knife different from a gun?

You're right...they have them hidden.
Here in Windsor you will occasionally get to see someone stick an 8" bladed knife in their pants and head out to the clubs. But once it's hidden it's, well, hidden.
There's also people around here who carry guns, regardless of the fact they aren't allowed to.

Don't get fuzzy feelings of safety due to laws and what is visibly carried.
The danger is out there...I just don't care. :)

As someone who usually CCWs, I've grown accustomed to carrying the Rajah2 when I'm going somehwere I can't legally take my firearm. The handle sticking out of my pocket has only been commented on once, and even then the person commenting had no idea how big it actually is.

I don't think knives make good defensive weapons, but the Rajah 2 gets closer than most. I don't claim to be a knife fighter or a defense expert, but these are the pros I see:

-Decent concealment
-Fast, reliable one-handed deployment
-Strong lock
-Functional blade shape for thrusting, slashing, and chopping
-Good reach

I've never used mine as a weapon, but I have used it a lot in yard work and misc big knife duties where I would usually use a fixed blade or machete. It has never let me down. I have absolutely nothing bad to say about it.
