What is (was) Spyderco’s best model(s)?

My favorite Spyderco is the " Spur " . I have several of the original issued ones and a " Sprint Run" model that has a plain edge. My daily carry knife has been an original one and it has done everything one could reasonably expect and more and has remained tight and solid after all these years. I also like the fact that it is unobtrusive while being a serious knife.

Military in all its forms: S90V, M4, CTS-XHP and my pre-ordered M390!
Manix 2 - love the heavy feel
Police - Classic blade

Will we get a Manix or Millie in ZDP? I'll have to search the forums.

I have found that where Spyderco is concerned, there are so many great models to choose from and I've barely scratched the surface...

But my favs so far are the Para-Military 2, Delica 4, Sage 1, and Centofante 3. Kiwi 3 for honourable mention.

Old Para, Deli4, Caly3 in G10 (ordinarily the stretch or para2 would have been in there - but the Deli4 won today)

Caly 3.5 has been my favorite knife to date. The Caly 3 is a very, very close second. The Caly 3.5 in SB has been a superb EDC and makes me wish there was one available in CTS 20CP.

I have yet to find my preferred dress knife. Most of the time, I just carry my Vic Cadet and am content.

in my opinion:

1. Military

2. Para-military

3. Endura/Delica

those 3 are the most readily available and are easily attainable.

JD,
No Dyad?

Hello BLACKNINJA :D Long time no hear from guy :) Actually it's a really close, neck n neck race to my favorite EDC folder. The C-44 big Dyad is permanently on JD's Top 10 Spyders of all time. And I seriously doubt if anything will ever de-throne it >> actually maybe I should plead "temporary insanity" because of the long hours I've been working. But I've carried an old Mili here lately and it's become a reliable friend. But it certainly isn't equiped with the super Spyderedged blade like the big Dyad is>> We've just got to petition that model to come back

There was talk a while back and a few folks got on the bandwagon of the idea of an H-1 Dyad. I could go for that all right but my dream blade would be a big Dyad with a supersteel like ZDP-189 or something in that neighborhood of alloys. I probably should change that one from the Mili to the C-44.

Manix 1 full size. It's big, powerful, ergonomic and a wonderful cutter. I know of no other folder this size that cuts this well. If I changed anything, I'd use a more exotic steel -- like M390 or M4 or 3V -- and put in a larger pivot. It probably doesn't need a larger pivot -- I trust Spyderco on that -- but it just looks like it would love one.

Military Ti/M4. Wonderful design and a great steel with an excellent heat treat. Excellent, full flat grind cutter with a slim edge. Slim and easy to carry. Best execution of Spyderco's flagship.

Military Ti ATR plain edge. Best execution of the compression lock. Extremely smooth. Big and strong. Sexy. The cobra-head flipper just works in this design.

Lava, which has the best ergos of any small knife I've tried.

I would have included the Gayle Bradley because of the wonderful blade, but the hokey shrunken scales and the lack of recess for unlocking makes it too flawed in unmodded form.

Depends a lot on what we mean by "best".

Based on past lists of this sort, Military is going to be mentioned a lot.

There are so many that impress me.
Para2 is outstanding.
The classics like Endura, Delica, and Stretch.
The F&F and quality of the GB is awesome.
I avoided the Police3 for a long time because it seemed to big, but dang it just fits my hand perfectly.
The one I have been totally impressed by is the Red Persian Sprint.

My favorite Spyderco has to be the Dodo I love the blade style and how the handle feels in your hand, I had one and unfortunately to help pay for schooling I had to sell it. So I am very excited for the new sprint run of the Dodo. :D

I really like the DKPK too - wondering what the DKPK2 is going to look like :)

I think we are tossing into the same hopper the answers to different questions, such as, What is the best knife Spyderco ever made?" and "What is your favorite Spyderco knife?" Just to complicate things further, there is also, "What knife most typifies Spyderco? What is the iconic Spyderco knife?" For me, the answer to that last one is Endura/Delica.

My best Spydies are in no particular order:
Sage I
Original Kiwi
Gayle Bradley
Chokwe
Paramilitary 2
