What is with Striders going for thousands of dollars?!

Most here, including the forum owner, do not separate this horrible person from the knives.

So let me get this straight.. OP opens up the thread talking about why the KNIVES are selling for so much, you and your buddies come in and rant about Mick, I say the topics can be separate, you rant some more and try to get it all shut down.
Is this some sort of censorship game plan 101 here?
Let people talk about the dang knives... leave your anti Mick feelings out of it or don’t participate.

Cool. I was a little interested in hearing thoughts on the topic and why the knives sell for so much, but I guess that won’t happen when people like you inject your personal resentment into it and dedicate your time to censoring discussion.

They are not mutually exclusive and never will be. Ever. Discussing the connection is completely viable and understandable.

Anyone who has been on this board for even a short period of time will know where any Strider thread is going to go.

I hope people who do not know the story, like me at one point, will see these threads and denounce the knives.

Strider built his marketing on a fake military background. I'd be willing to bet that there are alot of folks out there that don't know this and have purchased his knifes based on this. Now that they aren't in production people are paying top dollar for them. If they knew the history, they probably wouldn't fetch the prices you see now. You can't separate the man from the knife, as much as you would like to believe that.

Here’s the OP. Let’s play “find the name Mick”:

Just a quick auction search shows in the last month or so, least 2 dozen Striders sold for between $1000-almost $6000 !

I don't have any problem with the way people want to spend their money, but it is shocking that an SNG with a $600 price is a "quick sale", and that with all the options out there that Striders go up in value so fast.
The upper end stuff is mostly makume or timascus safe queen stuff, but day-ummmm... I can't believe these prices on the secondary market for pretty much any Strider except for the collaborations.
WHY?!!

I see you’re purposely avoiding my point that we can discuss the knives without resorting to discussing your hatred for Mick Strider. Might I suggest starting your own thread so as not to ruin this one? Or was that the intent all along... to ruin the thread?
