What is your 2015 knife future?

I just got into traditionals in 2014 and went on a bit of a buying spree. I have decided to slow down and focus my collection a bit, and will be picking up a couple of Northfield Barlows, and other SFOs when I can.

I am hoping the Case-Bose collaboration is to my liking. If so that will probably be about it for 2015. Trying to get the mortgage finished and the end is getting close.:)

Honestly, not much, though I know this will represent a big hit to the knife economy. :D

I plan to use what I have (which is already far more than I need), though there are a few things on my 'wish list' that might be exceptions to that.

Seems like everyone is planning on cutting back or selling off. Should be a great year for bargains in the Exchange. Bad year to be in knife selling business. Unless this is like drunks promising to sober up in the new year. :D

I myself am pretty well fully knived up. I was at this time last year but still picked up a few during the year. If something interesting comes along that catches my eye, or when the collection dumps start flooding the Exchange and there are bargains galore, I might pick up a few more.

I too plan on selling a few knives this year (mostly Case). I am going to focus on buying a few new pre 2004 (USA Made) Schrade knives in hunting styles.

I keep trying to get a BF 2014 knife - will settle on the Collectors knife Barlow if I get lucky.

Being new I tried to play catch up and over bought. I plan to just keep the folders that really mean something to me or have a future. I recently bought a Boker Kwaiken Titanium & VG-10 that i plan to work on and learn how to do some custom styling. This year is gonna be devoted to learning as much as possible and getting involved more with the art of collecting.

I have a Case Sow Belly on the way, and plan on picking up a GEC Moose, Boker Camp Scout, Vulture Werks Cholera, and something by Rick Hinderer.

Also have a Surefire on order and plan on a Kaweco Liliput in Brass, if anybody cares. I'm not only a knife nut, I'm a flashlight and pen nerd as well. :D

I just plan on trying to get every knife that sings out to me. I also plan on getting me a French Kate and putting it to a torture test on a few thirty packs. :)

I wouldn't mind a sowbelly either. I've held one though.
Nothing wrong with being a knife nut flashlight nut and pen nut.

I have two new ones that will arrive in January: A mint Chris Reeve Shadow IV and a Dan Koster MUCK. I would like to get a Bark River Bravo 1 in late spring. Beyond those three, I have not decided.

My first acquisition and one I'm very excited about will be one of Mike's #77 Northfield Barlows later this month. Other than that I'm not eyeing anything in particular. I've been enjoying my small rotation (about 15 traditional pocket knives) and enjoying life in general. :)

In the future please limit posts in the Traditional Forum to discussion of traditional patterns. None of those is a traditional pattern.

I love my 2014 Blade Forums knife.

I see myself picking up a few more of GEC's #77 model, more of their #15, and my first ever Case peanut.

My goals are to find a tc barlow or a scout 15. And then research towns and knife show possibilities for where ever my family ends up moving in the fall or next spring. Definitely changes in my future.

I usually buy a couple dozen productions ( both traditional and modern ) in a year and spend a couple thousand dollars. This year I am hoping to get 5 or 6 custom traditionals and spend about the same amount. I have a Gene Wiseman back pocket ordered now and once it arrives I will look at another one, either from the maker or from one of our BF dealers. I think the value on the traditional folders is outstanding compared to modern folders.
