What is your all time favorite knife

Ha, ha, ha
I’m going to be a _______ and say
THESE
The Buck 110 because it is so perfectly classic and feels really great to handle and look at . . . unfortunately it couldn’t be worse for the way I use a knife; way too thick; I can’t use the tip; way too heavy (but I will never sell it or loose track of it . . . it sits on my dresser in the bed room like the work of art that it is).

In the opposite direction this is the most perfect knife. The SAK Bantam (bottom knife in this photo) (or one of the Secretaries above it) So thin and long enough to do a bunch of stuff. Oh so civilized, no gimmicks, inexpensive. For much of my city slicker trip it’s the REAL DEAL.

alllllllllthough . . . it is being beat out by my latest laser dazer cutting machine . . . this brilliant little dude . . . and I am deadly serious . . . I LOVE THIS KNIFE FOR USING ! ! ! !
The Cold Steel kitchen paring knife. The bottom knife in this photo. Longer handle than the mini hunter for the same blade length and better shape . . .
I carry it in a Mora plastic belt sheath. Feels like it was born just to fit my hand and do my bidding to perfection. Cold Steel dudes . . . you do have this in the works for a S110V or 20CV . . . or . . . I’m getting the vapors just thinking about it . . . 10V . . . yahyahyahyah . . . for 2017 . . . right ??? come on at least lie to me and SAY that you do.

buuuuuuuuuut then there is this knife. The Cold Steel Hold Out I. Which I thought would be just too ridiculous to actually carry and use but I HAD to have it for some reason. Having carried and used the littlest version the III. Little did I realize just how dang cool and useful it is in the hand. Down side . . . in my area if I was out in public with this monstrous folder they would lock me up for sure. I just carry it around the house and use it in the kitchen and any other time I can.

So there . . . THAT is my all time favorite knife.
(all of the above)(stack 'em up and jump on 'em).

My B.Goode custom companion is by far my favorite knife.

DocT, can I ask where you got the Tim Gable knife? Does it have a date etched on it? I made that knife probably 25-30 years ago. It still looks pretty good. D2 is a great blade steel. Thanks, Tim

Welcome Tim!
Had to respond to this post bro! How great it must feel to see your work, from so long ago, in superb shape and still being enjoyed!! Just awesome!!!
I see some HVAC installs I've done from 20 - 35 years ago and get that same feeling!!
Too friggin cool!!
Try sending that dude a PM or e mail.

Easy.

My favorite "knife" is this combination.

Opinel #9 Inox and Micra by Pinnah, on Flickr

The Micra is always in my pocket. It handles about 99% of my day to day tool needs. It gets used daily. I'm particularly fond of the cap lifter and the scissors are excellent.

The Opinel #9 Inox isn't a knife that I love emotionally, but it's a knife that has earned my undying respect. There is simply no more versatile knife that I've ever used. The joint is tougher than any other I've used. No wobble, no rock, no matter how hard I bang on it. Goes through wood like a laser. Incredibly comfortable in hand. One hand opening and one hand closing - no problem. People friendly enough to cut up steak tips at the local pub without anybody getting upset. I'll take it backpacking or to the office. If I'm going on travel and can only take 1 knife, this is the one.

The SnG. I have owned and used a lot of knives over the years, customs and productions, but the SnG is my favorite. And now that I have one back in MY pocket, I am a very happy camper.
