What is your "bang for buck" knife

These things have to get a mention. Bucklites. I think I paid $10 apiece for these and they’re light but strong.

CJRB Feldspar is a great bang for the buck knife. My wife loves her mini.

Couldn’t agree more on the SAKs. Love the way that alox wears. New:

You made me remember the 110 and 112 Slim. Those are also excellent bang for the Buck (hehe) knives if you want a pocket clip and OHO. I've actually got a pair of the 110 Slims on the way to go in the glove boxes of our cars as backups in case I leave my fancier carry options at home.

Buck for me, under $50, and made in USA. If I were to lose one, not end of the world.

112 slim is one of favorite knock around knives.

If I lost my DEK1 it wouldn't be the end of the world - but I sure would cry a lot...

My top 'bang for buck' knife is SAK, also. Affordable, readily available, consistent QC, high utility, widely recognized brand that does not suggest 'weapon' (which goes a long way.)

Lots of great options already mentioned, but I'd like to add the Cold Steel Voyager line. If you're looking for a robust locking one-hander, you get a lot of knife for the money.

As far as "bang for buck "goes, for me they would be USA made Bucks, SAK ALOX, (with SAK Classics on all our key rings), Mora, and Opinel. Some Case knives fit in that group for me also, namely the Peanut, and Sodbuster Jr.

Most of what I was thinking as I read the op has already said.lol
But I'll reiterate some and add what I can...

For hard working folders;
The Buck 112 and 110 are high on my favorites list. Pretty as well as ergonomic. USA made and super tough.
For about $35?! Gotta love it.

Surprised me it took so long for the Ontario Rat 1 to get mentioned. That's an excellent all around one handed utility blade. Tough and light. Great 4 position clip. The aus 8 sharpens up super sharp, fairly fast and easy, with decent edge retention. For a modern style tactical utility blade, it's hard to beat at around $40.

For a more traditional slip joint type knife I'd give a mention to the Case Sod Buster family. I like the Jr size, but either one cuts well and is easy to carry. I just like them

For a more multi tool-ish pocket knife, tons of people here have already mentioned the sak. But I'll go a little farther and specify a few favorite Victorinox models...

111 mm Trekker. One handed or two. I prefer the two hander because of the blade shape, but either is great.
You get a big locking blade that is fairly heavy duty for a sak. I like the big heavy locking "bottle opener/screw driver" too. That's a beast of a mini-folding-pry-bar.
Plus all the normal tools; saw, openers, awl...

93 mm Alox Farmer and Farmer X.
How can you not love alox? It's light, tough, looks nice, doesn't corrode... The only down side is I sometimes miss the toothpick. But the heavier blade than the standard 91 mm models, and the in-line awl make up for it. Add some sweet scissors to the "X" model and it's REALLY handy.

Survival and outdoors stuff...

The Outdoor Survival model Opinel.
I know it's a little gimmicky. But I like the simple stainless on it. The whistle and the ferro rod work well. It's light, tough and fun for pretty cheap.

Okay, here's where I'm probably gonna get roasted and toasted with hate and argument.lol...
For a good beater and survival fixed blade. Cheap, but very usable...
The Gerber Ultimate Fixed Blade Survival Knife. The newer version with the hammer pommel, actually made with full tang construction this time, and green with absolutely zero BG reference.
This thing can be anything you want it to. It can cut, dig, pry, hammer, stab or whatever else. I like the hammer pommel. The handle is very comfy imo. It's got a few survival extras too; diamond sharpener, whistle, ferro fire starter rod. They're all mediocre and not as good as your dedicated tools, but if it's all you have they'll look pretty nice. The sheath is decent too, and if you do lose it, or manage to break it, there's no reason to be too upset. It was only about $45 tax and all.

Alright, I'm tired of typing and getting sleepy. Good night everyone.

Cold Steel 4-max scout is an amazing bargain for what you get - and don't let anyone tell you its not totally fidgetable. great steel, amazing grip - cloud like grip. Poke around online, you can find them under 100.

Civivi, Chinese Spyderco’s, and Ontario Rats are some of the best budget blades out there. Civivi quality is equal to knives far above the price range. The Spyderco Chinese line, and Ontario Rats are built to work plus the 8cr13mov and AUS8 blades take and hold a decent edge.

I’m new here but I’ve been really enjoying this little Civivi Elementum I picked up when TSA kidnapped my EDC of the past few years. For a cheap knife, it’s got a nice little action (after a minor adjustment and a drop of oil. It’ll definitely see some rotation in and out of my pocket for a while; even though my tastes generally run to more expensive toys.

Ya, I’m in. Always wanted one in black. Exactly how I thought it would age.

For me I have to say the Kizer genie.

Full ti front flipper s35vn that holds an edge for 158$

The attention to detail is insane for the money, detent ball ramp, amazing action, milled out/skeletonized ti handles, near perfect blade to handle ratio and only weights 2.4 oz with 3.4 Inches of blade.

For something more budget oriented the Kershaw blur is still king for me. 14c28n steel, made in America for around 60$. Easy to de assist to!
