See the title. What is your craziest gadget or strangest piece of gear?

I have some odd things, but the one thing that has drawn the most attention and funny looks would have to be my titanium chopsticks! I put them to good use at dinner tonight. :D

I have a custom "tactical ulu" that is pretty unusual looking. I wish I had a picture because it is hard to describe. You hold the handle almost like a kerambit. The blade is a large ulu shaped thing that comes up in front of your clenched fist. I wouldn't want to be punched with it. Has a nasty point on the top too.

In the non-knife world, I have a small hand-crank tool for cutting threads onto bicycle spokes. Don't know whatever possessed me to pick it up some 30+ years ago. It's a cool looking little device but I've never used it for building a wheel.

caution, large image....
McLux:D :D :D

now i need to make some purchases at berkley point to tether that bad boy :D

Pete

edit: ok, maybe it's not that unusual, but it's pretty sweet :)

Steven, what model Omega is on your wrist? Must be titanium. Titanium chopsticks?! I have to have a pair of those!

I have a thermos bottle. It keeps hot things hot, and cold things cold.

How does it know?

That would have to be my Casio Protrek digital/analog watch. This sucker looks like it belongs as part of the "dashboard" in a Boeing 747, and does everything except wash my clothes!.:D.

I carry a balaclava around, not because I'm an operator-wannabe, but because it gives me peace of mind when I'm doing things I shouldn't be doing around people of delicate sensibilities. I'd post pics but I'd have to censor them first. ;)

Another crazy gadget I've got is this thing made of stitched cloth. I use it to carry all my knives. It has three holes in it, a zipper, and a button. I never leave home without it. I call this gadget my modular mobile knife transport platform, but I think the sheeple call them "pants". Idiots. :D

I only wish that watch was mine. As I noted, that picture was recycled from elsewhere. That is the wrist (and watch I presume) or Eric Blair of Toxic Toys, the one who made the chopsticks.

Hey Steven, those chopsticks are cool! Are you good at it? You love chinese food a lot?:)

Hmm, probably the Vigneto pistol-grip, lever-type cork puller. It was a Christmas gift from my wife. It's the next best thing to a mounted estate type puller. Very cool. Vingeto opener

Next up would have to be the stick blender. But it doesn't get much use.

grnamin,
That's actually Eric's pic with the ti chopsticks and the watch is the Omega X-33 Speedmaster. My craziest gadget is probably my Palm Pilot...not because of what it is, but because of all the crazy crap I have downloaded in it!

I'd consider myself fairly good at it. I ate dinner with them last night without any trouble.

I like Chinese and Japanese food, especially sushi! :D

I'm a pretty low tech kind of guy. But I have a few things you don't see every day. I have an aluminum bodied darbuka, most of the guys I know who have drums lean towards natural materials. I have two "pickle forks", one for tie rods, one for ball joints. Super simple but most people probably don't know what they're for. My wife has a taper needle for stretching a piercing to a bigger gauge, betcha don't see one of those everyday. Oh, and a spare reptile enclosure. My gecko died a while back but I still have his tank and set up. Reptile enclosure #1 still has a python in it. Does my '65 Baja count as a gadget or a car?
