What is your dream Buck?

It almost looks like quilted maple, but it it is hard to tell as the photo is slightly blurred.
York Gum Burl from down-under
it is NOT wood...
well i will say it is some thing that leroy has never used before!
btw leroy did the MOP..also ..it is A+++ grade book matched MOP !
the CS Ramy with inverted tang stamp is from another buck brother
and the Black Buff Bg42 111 is from the custom shop

...LOL...That is a "boo boo" knife 'blades...It's a BCCI Fundraiser knife, in stag and stainless and S30V, that was made with the finger-grooves "boo boo'd" (missing)...It's got the best stag I've seen in a LOOOOOONG time...:)...Ya never know...if I ever get a jar or two of that West Virginia shed nectar, to play with my mind, I may put 'er up for sale...:p

Well, iffin ya ever get liquored and decide to sell ,I'm in thats a lucky knife to get ,looks sweet!

Now, that's a one-of-a-kind, and that's cool...But it's not what we all thought we were getting...

Here's the pic of the original drop-point 110 prototype, from Dec 2005 -

And here is what Buck came up with, and the BCCI shipped -

The following year, Buck & the BCCI also came out with the companion 112...

Look closely at the blade profiles and compare the two 110's...

That prototype 110 with the 426 profile drop-point blade is still my dream knife...Nickel silver bolsters, Sambar stag scales, premium steel blade...I may just make one, the same way the prototype was made...with a grinder!!! ;)

humm seems i heard the drop they showed
was a cut down 110 clip blade
whether cut down from a finished blade or a blank i dont know
but i believe it was a finished blade
but defensively i believe it is not a 426 blade

Since I have 2 custom 110s',mine would be a custom 112.I wish they had that option on the Buck Custom Shop page.

I'll second that! A 112 offering would start me buying customs again, as I have tapped out the 110 Customs.

no not dillo.. leroy had done several in it..
this is some thing he told me to not buy as it was expensive
but he liked how it looked when he got done with it!!!

you kow trax the more the more i look at the cut down
the more that profile grows on me ...
still i done like looseing that last 1/4 inch it takes to do that
there was a 110 sold with a 426 stamped blade in it
it was the Alaska 25th with a flag and bear on it..
there have been a few 110 employee knives
show up with the 426 blades .. have seen about 6 so far
must have been a common swap at the factory..
the most uncommon swap is the 112 / 110 twin blade like Joe has..
jave heard of only one in PA that a dealer had..

334dave - I don't have the thread handy (I saved it on a CD somewhere) but IIRC it was a certain model/year 110 clip point blade that didn't lose that much...I think only an eighth...

But the two maroon 426's I have only measure 3 5/8" blade length; so if you grind the curve on a new 3 3/4" 110, you'll only be an eighth off... :)

Ahaaaa,Some RARE/ODD for sure on this thread.......I humbly thank you for 'THE GOLD' Bro.....I got your 06 WM tin ready for ya.....

A 941 signed by Chuck Buck.
That would be a good conversation piece at the deer camp lunch-table.

:D:cool::D

My first thought for MY dream Buck would be a rare/odd 112 since that is what I collect and display.....No.....It would be like the 'Famous' 651 pigsticker custom Joe created BUT.....15" to 16" overall length [a loooooong blade] A textured rubber like handle similar to whats on the 450,a small guard 1/2" or less.....A thin needle like point/profile, double edged 3/4 down the back side,154 or better yet D2 steel....A real long, evil looking, fighter.

112 and 110 with finger grooves, green canvas micarta handles, pinned not just glued in place, A2 steel blade. Nickle silver fittings
