What is your favorite Benchmade?

Benchmade 610 Rukus. Why? Because of the dozens of Benchmades I used to own, it is the only one that even comes close to the solidness of the Chris Reeve Sebenzas or the Umnumzaan. When you EDC those knives for sseveral years, you are ruined. I love the Umnumzaan, but I know this said Benchmade, and I do EDC a Benchmade610 Rukus. It is like a folding fixed blade. Super Solid. I would like to try a Large Skirmish, but maybe later I have a few more Umnumzaans to buy for Christmas presents!

BTW: I remember when Benchmades were the exclusive brand, (when the CQC-7 came out over ten tears ago) now with the red box it seems everyone has one!
I have a blown-up real picture of a CQC-7 from over a decade ago, it's on my wall and is about 20+"x 18" aprox. it looks cool.

the thing about the red box benchmades is that people I know who want to buy a decent knife and have seen/handled my blue or black box knives then come to me and say "I think I want this one, its X and I think itll be good" and I then have to explain to them that while I agree its a fine knife, they are going to be disapointed if they are expecting to get the same knife that I have in terms of edge retention and fit and finish. That's a hard one to explain too, because very few people want to drop 100+ on a pocket knife. I just want people to have realistic expectations though.

Youre not going to get a 710 for 40 dollars; just like you arent going to get a sebenza for 200 (bradley alias Im looking at you). Doesnt mean you arent getting a fantastic knife, but you are going to be disapointed if you go in expecting that.

My favorite benchmade right now is the 520. Its just about the best looking knife Ive ever seen that doesnt have inlays/scrimshawing and even though its heavy, doesnt cut as well as some other designs, has really big handle for the blade length, basically all the sorts of things that make it a bad edc knife (which Ill freely admit). I just think the aesthetics overweigh that.

I have 2 favorites. My first Benchmade, the mini AFCK, and the 707. If I tell what my least favorite is, I will be disagreeing with a lot of people.. Oh heck here goes. I just don't like my mini Griptillian at all. Must be me, because the various Grips are some of the most loved knives around. Oh well, I guess that's why they make so many different knives.

my fav BM is either the rukus or the axis AFCK, while BM used to be my fav maker a few yrs back here lately they havent really came out with anything i was crazy about,

Altough I don't have many BM's my favourite one is 940 - for low weight, cool design and very nice functionality :D
Very very good piece of knife

42, 45, 46, 530, 630, 730, 830, 750, 710, 771, 556, 690, 14205, 12800, 10210, 806, 10450, 600, 970

My favorite Benchmade's are the 710 series followed by the HK 14210, 14205 and the 950 Rift models. Here's a few pics:

I hope that you can remember where you put those bad boys.:jerkit:

I have had several BM's and all were great knives. I regret trading away my "Nimravus" and will someday get another. The only BM I have left to date is a "Auto Stryker" and it's been an outstanding knife. It was a Tanto but I had to work the blade a bit after I got a small chink in it. Came out better than expected! Still fires hard and locks up solid.:D:thumbup:
