Here are my two favorites:

1. Today when I took out my Busse Battle Mistress to trim some petunias at the flower shop where I just started working, they got all freaked out. Why are people so prejudiced against knives?

2. I'm going to buy a new knife and I've narrowed it down to either a 30" khukuri from Himalayan Imports, or an ivory handled pen knife with platinum bolsters. Which one should I get?

Lest anyone get offended I was recently guilty of starting another "What's the deal with tanto blades" thread and I'm sure that's at the top of several people's lists.
:D

My least favorite topic, and it comes up at least once a day, is: "Which small knife should I carry so the big one doesn't scare the sheeple?"

It's a silly, pointless question. Carrying the big knife is just added weight if you're not going to use it because of a few sheep in the area. Assuming the big one is legal, why bother with what the sheep think? If the big one isn't legal, then why carry it?

The threads I despise are the ones that go :

"I'm not really a knife person but I find it usful to have a knife on me. Please recommend a good knife under $50 that I can count on."

I know its good to help them out but their are SO MANY of these everyday people shold just use the search function....

Mine has to be the one that pops up in The Good,The Bad and The Ugly or the Custom Forum every so often, don't know if it's my favorite or least favorite, dang,I forget now, someone help me out!:D

Any thread that Cliff Stamp has replied to!! Or starts with someone asking HIM a question.Acccccccck

I have to admit that I don't even bother reading the Strider quality / warranty threads anymore.

Any reply that starts with, "I know you have a $...... limit, but for a few more dollars you can get a...... ."

After a few of these, the guy who started with a $100 limit has $350 knives being recommended. Totally pointless.

Also, any critique of a knife when it is apparent that the poster has never touched one, let alone used it.

Any cold steel threads they may start out interesting but they always go way off.

Strider vs. Sebenza threads,

Also any sebenza thread,

Just a few of the ones I thought of right off,

TBG

How about :

Someone please recommend a knife, I need a knife which one, etc.

Dude, just spend the next 2 days reading all of the general and review forums threads for the last 3 years and you may learn something.

Or how about:

Review Request. I just bought this knife can smoeone test one and tell me how good it is

Any, "whats so great about......"

Any one that asks about using a knife for self defense. Those go sour real fast on this forum........

No sense in even reading these anymore.

which knife should I use to fight off a bear.if the bear is that close you'll proably throw it away anyhow.

I like the "Show us what you're carrying" as long as people actually show us.
I'm pretty new, so most don't bother me, but I don't really like seeing someone with a lot of time here bagging on a newbie for asking a question that has been asked many times before.

i dunno if these are reacurring but they were pretty dumb

"i just bought a knife, was it a good choice?"

"i just bought a knife for $xxx off of ebay was that a good price?"

I hate the ones that have SPAM in the title. Never get to find out what I missed.

And any post with "hideous" in it.

Any thread where folks are bowing down praising THE ALMIGHTY SEBENZA.

Give it a damn break!

Peace,
