What is your favorite Spydie(s) for EDC?

I've found that my Military PE is best for all around cutting tasks, and it fits in my pocket without being obtrusive like other knives of the same size. Because of these reasons it is my primary EDC. However, for more serious business I also carry my Spyderedge Endura for work and my Native 35/65(once it's back from Spyderco) or Delica SE for non-work carry. It's having the best of both worlds for any task at hand, at work or play. :)

What Spydie, or Spydies, are your favorite for EDC?

For EDWC (i.e. Everyday WORK Carry) I absolutely rely on my G10 SE Harpy. This tough little guy is just the ticket for quick pull cutting on rope, straps, shrinkwrap, boxes, etc. (I'm in freight shipping biz). Also good to have to save a life (maybe my own) by cutting seatbelts, since I spend so much time on the road.
For defense if need be? There's no arguing the Harpy can do well in a pinch.
And FWIW, the ATS-55 steel has performed superbly. Has held a good edge and NO rust whatsoever. I once took it to the beach and deliberately dunked it in saltwater and left it for three days. There was not a single rust spot or pit on it. I am not exaggerating.
Spyderco built this folder so well it continues to amaze me a full year after carrying and hard use. It's still tight as new, blade is so smooth and the lockup 'click' is incredibly precise. The only sign that my Harpy gives away that it's a user knife is the telltale fading on the pocket clip edges.
Incredible.

For weekend EDC I am proud to carry my Native II PE. It's blade is functional, a pleasure to handle, elegant, and yet very sturdy. This is a knife I really don't like to bang up :)
Beautifully crafted.

For EDC outdoor play mode where I expect hard use, I have at ready my FRN Endura SE and Chinook PE. I could go on and on about these but I better stop here and give others an chance to chime in ;)

For EDC I would have to say my G10 Police PE. It's pretty new actually and I just love the edge that Spyderco put on it. Amazing edge. Formerly my spyderco EDC was an aus8 Endura.

Soon I'll be getting the Native FRN PE and I think that might even be a better carry for me than the Police. It's shorter and more comfortable to carry.

What SPYDERCO EDC?
Wow, pretty many! :D
  • Military going outdoors or around household. Very decent cutter everywhere, from backyard to kitchen. Somewhat too big for city carry (Sal, compact version, pleeeeaseeee!!!) but in situations when size its not an issue – it is one of my very favorite knives. Being pressed hard to keep one knife only greatly probably it would be exactly Military!
  • If I would take a hard trip in wilderness Bill Moran Featherweight would be my first choice because of its extremely high performance and evenly extremely light weight and compact, easy to carry size.
  • Ti-Salsa is one of my favorite daily carry knives in urban environment. Little strong knife, a lot of cutting power in compact, non-scarring format.
  • Delica and Calypso Jr. Ltw. are my travel knives. Travelling through foreign countries where I’m not sure of knife law regulations I always put one of them into my pocket. They are decent tools what can satisfy close to 100% of my cutting needs and they look modestly causing less desire to be confiscated by officious police or custom officer.
  • Bob Lum Chinesse Folder accompanies me when I’m going dressed. If nobody admires “wow, it’s sweeeeet!” I consider this day deteriorated. Sometimes it is supported with Tie Clip knife.
If someone couldn’t choose one or another SYDERCO knife for each occasion – I would dare to say he or she is simply choosy ;)

Please visit my image gallery at www.sergium.izet.pl My homepage is not complete yet but some interesting pictures including Spydercos you can find there.

My EDC alternates between a FRN CE Jess Horn and a FRN PE Native. Althought I seem to favor the Jess Horn a little more ;)

Well, since the original question was for everyday carry, I will have to go with my Calypso Jr. with AUS8A blade and micarta handle. Sheeple friendly, this knife does it all. Yeah, I know; other steels hold an edge longer and are more high tech, but the 8A gets it done and is easy to resharpen too.

I wouldnt have thought it from looking at it's size, but the big Military is extremely easy to carry too. For it's size, the Military carries like a much smaller knife. I dont know the reason, but some smaller knives dig into your hip and are not so easy to carry.

1) C48ps Big Wegner
2) Mouse
3) Jester, PE, either black frn or brug micarta depending on how dressed up I am

Right now I'm alternating with an Alum. Salsa, Native, and Jester.
Thanks,
Matt

Normal "work" carry (dress pants/suit):
Calypso Jr. Micarta

Today ("casual Friday"):
Gunmetal Lum Chinese

Outdoors:
Large Wegner

Weekend/out & about (potential "Social Applications"):
Large Wegner

Rotation:
Micarta Jess Horn, G-10 Rookie, G-10 Navigator

Water:
FRN Delica (serrated)

Lately, I've been carrying my plain-edge Chinook along with my REKAT Sifu as my 2 EDC folders. (I like big, sturdy folders!.:).).

Native FRN plain-edge and Dragonfly SS serrated. Sometimes my Cricket FRN plainedge instead of the Dragonfly. Bigger knives like Starmate and Godard micarta folder are too big for EDC.

I'll buy a Military when the tip is made more robust.

I don't carry a spyderco as my EDC (blasphemy?). I do hawever often carry a Matriarch and sometimes a Gunting (more after I take Bram's seminar and get the Kydex I imagine). I also have an old plastic clipped Delica as my "swimming knife". A SE Calypso Jr. rides in my car everywhere. So though I do not have one as my EDC, spydercos get plenty of a workout in my all over rotation.

Recently it has been my Mouse when at work, and my Blue Delica and G-10 Police when at play.

Only have 2 spydercos, an 18 year old Standard and an Endura. Usually carry the Endura but when I get tired of sitting on it(back pocket carry) I switch to the Standard as it's much flatter. Or if am wearing Levis, they have smaller back pockets.

Blue PE Salsa Al in my front pocket takes care of 90% of my cutting tasks, 'small', light, comfortable and i like the AUS8.
FRN 65/35 Native in the back pocket for rough stuff and fondling.
I think you would be hard pressed to find a better performing folder than those Spyderco has to offer.

Well, actually, none of my 24 Spydies is my EDC; that slot's pretty well filled by a few customs. However:
  • there's a Ladybug II with my car keys, and I don't leave home without them
an orange Rescue Jr. rides in my car
there's always other pockets where a Spydie or two can ride. :D

It was a PE Native, but I've been carrying a Salsa for several weeks now (ever since I got it) and I just can't put it away. It's a great, sharp little knife!

....Ahhh, my beatiful EDC is the Titanium Bob Lum Tanto Folder, been looking for a second one just to have since....AHEM...Spyderco discontinued the model ( BOOOOOO! :D )
