What is your favorite zytel handled knife?

If you have stainless or titanium liners, that's OK, you have a nice gripping surface along with the mechanical properties of the metal liner. But if you're depending on the mechanical properties of the Zytel, count me out. :barf:

Molded nylon, even filled nylon, parts age and fail in very strange, unpredictable ways, often at far lower loads than you would expect. I have a lightweight Spydie Matriarch in my collection that I would hate to bet my life on, with its no-liner Zytel handle. The single-liner G-10 Civilian, on the the other hand, is a dandy piece of lightweight equipment.

G-10 is just so much better than Zytel in load bearing applications that it's well-worth the extra $. By the way, G10 doesn't actually cost very much, although it's probably harder to machine in quality applications.

I like G-10 myself, but I do own some zytel knives. If I had to pick?

Spyderco Native in 440V or Spyderco Calypso Jr. Lightweight in VG-10. These steels shine, and with the lightweight scales, you almost forget they're in your pocket.

You know, I also like my little CRKT Mirage. It's been a good little user. The AUS-6 is decent, and it's a compact carry I've enjoyed owning.

Two come to mind for me and I have both. The Cold Steel Scimitar and the large SOG Auto clip in BG42.

I'm a linen micarta fan but my kershaw blackout still finds it way into my pocket every once in a while.

Nothing quite as sharp, light, and user friendly as my Boyes Blue Whale. It and my ATS-34 EZ-out get lots of use.
