what is your fixed blade edc?

Here's my knife that Brian Goode made for me.

_bgoode.jpg

I carry it vertically in front of my left leg hanging from my belt and draw with my right hand. I put a brass-plated d-ring on the leather strap that is attached to the sheath and clip the knife onto a carabiner on my belt so I can attach and detach the knife easily and the sheath will move loosely with me. It's 0-1 with olive drab micarta.

It's on my belt in front my my right leg, the end of the sheath gets tucked into my pocket so you can't see it hanging down. It's a leather sheath with a snap retainer.

Ontario RAT-3 at work and around town. BM140 and/or Frost Grizzly when out hiking, camping, or practicing. BM975S folder with me at all times.

I carry a Spyderco SWICK (neck knife) and a Cold Steel Safe Keeper III (push knife.) As soon as it arrives, I will be adding a RAT-3 in D2 to my EDC! :D I carry quite a few. ;)

Cold Steel Mini Culloden, and
Emerson La Griffe or Lynn Dawson Karambit (necker).

(Plus 2 folders; one plain and one serrated.)

Spyderco Street Beat!

I'm currently carrying it in the factory sheath OWB, strong-side vertical. Hopefully, the Mike Sastre drawpoint sheath I ordered for it will come in soon. The factory sheath isn't bad, but it rattles a bit and IWB carry is lower profile.

The Street Beat is a great knife. I own a couple of them already and I think it's the perfect small fixed blade for me. It's probably going to be an EDC for a long time.

As of right now, the only fixed blade I occasionally carry (I realize this kind of contradicts the point of this thread) is a First Strike CRKT (small of the back, horizontal carry). But seeing as how I work in a call center, most of the time it stays in the driver's side visor of my truck. I'm just waiting for the day that I can afford to carry a nice, pretty, sheeple friendly custom...

usually a bud nealy amoeba, or a bud nealy 5" M2 pesh kebz w/a MASS sheath, carried SS IWB, dont carry very often though.

The FB's that make into my EDC rotation are: !. Tom Krein TK-2 & Nemesis Knives Arch Ally. I have a Charles May Fire AnT

When I feel like edcing a fixed blade it is the RAT3. When I don't the rat3 is always in my truck.

Strider DB. I cut things with it. I also hack, chop ,pry, punchure things. Dig arrows out of stumps from time to time.

I have four that I rotate:

1) Dozier Agent in D2...
2) Ontario Rat-3 in D2...
3) Bark River Southern Skinner in A2...
4) Blackhawk Crucible in AST-34...

All kydex holsters, and all worn horizontal weak side...

The are all mated with some kind of general use folder. The fixed blades are defensive only and don't get used. The folders get used a lot...

Buck Cocobola Woodsman like the one pictured by 4W4K3. Although i might be in the mood for something a little less traditional, i'm low on funds at the moment.

Usually one of these! A maker MUST carry one of his own knives.

All of those look seriously nice. The last two look like they glow in the dark, what exactly are the handles on those?

On weekends I carry a Graham Brothers mid-tech razel (green handles). I'm looking at getting a stubby, but I'll have to wait 6-8 months. :)
