what is your fixed blade edc?

SOG Seal Pup, never fish or hit the woods without it. Works pretty good for skinning too and is easy to sharpen.

I'm a big fan of Strider WP drop points. Very versatile design with good ergos, nice price point and you dont cringe or hold your breath when you drop them. I use mine for the mundane daily chores of box cutting, pill splitting, food prep and as pack knives when hunting or hiking.

Needle, do you have a photo of how your d-ring is attached to your sheath and how it works with the karabiner?

Here you are! Just a crappy webcam photo, but as you can see, I slide a small black carabiner onto my belt, the flat side of the d-ring is held by the top of the leather sheath strap, and the round side of the d-ring is clipped into the carabiner. The half-round shape of the d-ring means that the carabiner will always sit at the very top, whereas a square clip would let it slide horizontally.

I carry a Herb Derr 2700 layer Birds Eye Damascus 3" fixie with fossilized Walrus jawbone handle, complete with a tooth socket in it. It rides in a Ostrich skin/leather holster on my right hip every moment I'm dressed. Here in Wisconsin you can only carry 3" blades and under, and they must be displayed in the open. Otherwise it's considered concealed carry and subject to surrender and fine. I cut anything I need to during every day. Food, boxes, letters, carpet, rope. Anything that I need to cut. I keep it shaving sharp and food clean at all times. Gents folder in my left front pocket.

Peace.

Fixed blade carry rotation...

Trace Rinaldi sharkstooth (one of the first 40 knives he's made)

Danbo made knife...one of his firsts too.

Tom Krein tk2

Busse gamewarden...gets the most carry time at the moment.

An OA 6.3" (16cm) .015" thick custom made by Jürgen Schanz / Germany from tungsten alloyed carbon steel.

It is just a little longer than a folded AFCK, so it greatly replaces a folder.

I cut what normaly is cut and enjoy the solid feel.

Carried in a self made kydex sheath back or front pocket.

Busse Assault Shaker and a Busse Skeleton Warden. Use them for every day cutting tasks, kitchen work, etc. I sometimes carry a Busse Skeleton Key, but since I got the Warden, the Key has been tucked into my pack.

Thanks for the info., Needle. I'm sure you are very happy with the Goode blade. Nice size, too.

Here's another that I carry when out and about. A Darrell Parent LZ. I removed the bead blast coat and applied cold bluing to the blade. The surface is much slicker now and protected by the patina.
