Great thread!
Even when 'suited-up' for business or formal occassions, I'll be armed with something more substantail, I believe the spirit of this thread was what small, dressy knife you carry on such days[or nites]. I will be the first to admit that my William Henry CF Lancet is on of my favorites, but lately I've been going a little more traditional...

Another vote for the WH Spearpoint. Amber is the daily carry. I have a pearl as well but don't carry that one. I have shown the amber to the most knife phobic people and have received nothing but admiration... Two even went and got their own.

I am waitng on two knives that should fit the bill in the office and church though. One is a whitewing lockback with stag scales and CPM3V blade and the other is a WH spearpoint in fishtail oak. I am so jazzed about the Whitewing. Bailey has done all the work on these initial knives so IMHO they are a Bradshaw handmade with a different polish for under 3 beans! Sweet deal! Oh, almost forgot, I am also waiting on a itty bitty Running Dog wharncliffe with blue G10 scales. That shouldnt scare anyone even if it is not really a gents knife.

Generally I carry my large Victorinox Adventurer SAK with locking 3.25" blade for all occasions. In a Tux I might just bring my Buck Master Series Squire lockback with BG42 blade. It is very slim, sharp, and has gunstock checkering.

Any or all of the following: Spyderco Viele, Spydie Calypso full size plain or jr serrated, Jess Horn lightweight, full size or jr. Wegner.

For me it's easy...

2 knives;

Right hip, DANGELO customized Spyderco Viele in full serrations with gold/platinum "scales."
Left hip, Mel Pardue 350 in 50/50 with BT2 coated blade.

If "tux" also a BM Mel Pardue 330 tucked in my change pocket.

Well, let's try to specify what is a gentleman's knife? In my opinion it should be:
  • Classy and elegant design. No way it should look dangerous.
  • Flawlessly executed.
  • Very sharp.
  • It should be really dangerous although it doesn't look.
And here is the knife which matches all these requirements by all means!

This is the KERSHAW Ti-Hawk - the knife I'm wearing with suite, when I'm dressed up for special occasions. Sorry, I do not have any good photos so I pushed a whole knife into my flatbed scanner.
The handle is made up of titanium alloy with fine bead blasted finish and is supported with double steel liners. Scales are anodized in elegant "old silver" color. Pocket clip is designed for tip-up carry and can be removed if required. The 85-mm long blade of ATS-34 is satin finished but very, very shinny, looks really like polished. I have spent a while of time to sharpen it and to hone the edge to really razor sharpness. It is very pleasurably to make an impression among the friends when I ask my wife to "lend" me one hair and cut it in the air holding one end only. Action is fluid-smooth.
However the elegant appearance no way compromises knife strength and usefulness. Lockup is very positive, this knife passed all spine hack tests I performed. Grip comfort and security is enough for common cutting chores or even for defensive use.
Ti-Hawk is 110 mm long closed and weights 85 g (3 oz) only.
I could highly recommend this knife for suite carry and not only...

Nice knife! Does Camillus make a little Pearl handled knife?

My favorite dress knife is my favorite carry knife period. That is my William Henry large carbon fiber spearpoint. I also have a small white micarta Jess Horn Spyderco and Benchmade Mel Pardue 330 plus a carbon fiber Spyderco Dragonfly. These are all good suit or air travel knives.

Well I don't own a suit, but I do have one sportcoat and with any luck I'll only have to wear that 1 or 2 times a year. Then it will depend on if I'm carrying a gun or not. Gun yes then my Rookie gun no then Bm AFCK or Bm710. I might also add I'm always a gentleman clothes have nothing to do with that.

I carry the same knives in a suit as I do in jeans. AFCK and schrade old-timer middleman stockman

If I'm wearing a coat, I'll usually drop my BuckLite or Delica into a pocket. If not, then I'll just carry a small, bone-handled Parker Cut. "Little Mustang" lockblade in my pocket. Not the greatest little blade ever made, but my dad gave it to me and I wouldn't trade it for two Sebenzas.

Chris Reeve Umfaan; I'm surprised I'm the first one to say that.

I usually just use my daily carry -- small sebenza and SAk. The LM Wave may or may not accompany it (you can't see it under a sportcoat anyway)
