Well, let's try to specify what is a gentleman's knife? In my opinion it should be:
- Classy and elegant design. No way it should look dangerous.
- Flawlessly executed.
- Very sharp.
- It should be really dangerous although it doesn't look.
And here is the knife which matches all these requirements by all means!
This is the KERSHAW
Ti-Hawk - the knife I'm wearing with suite, when I'm dressed up for special occasions. Sorry, I do not have any good photos so I pushed a whole knife into my flatbed scanner.
The handle is made up of titanium alloy with fine bead blasted finish and is supported with double steel liners. Scales are anodized in elegant "old silver" color. Pocket clip is designed for tip-up carry and can be removed if required. The 85-mm long blade of ATS-34 is satin finished but very, very shinny, looks really like polished. I have spent a while of time to sharpen it and to hone the edge to
really razor sharpness. It is very pleasurably to make an impression among the friends when I ask my wife to "lend" me one hair and cut it in the air holding one end only. Action is fluid-smooth.
However the elegant appearance no way compromises knife strength and usefulness. Lockup is very positive, this knife passed all spine hack tests I performed. Grip comfort and security is enough for common cutting chores or even for defensive use.
Ti-Hawk is 110 mm long closed and weights 85 g (3 oz) only.
I could highly recommend this knife for suite carry and not only...
