Short haul truck driver (200-300 miles a day) and as of 2 weeks ago- back at being a bouncer on the weekends.

BoulderTroll,

As far as I know, there is no requirement to work in the jail a certain amount of time before being able to go to the road. I'm sure they would prefer that people have a few years of experience working in the jail before transferring over though. However, since it's such a small department, and the guys that are on the road aren't leaving any time soon, it's rare that a position ever opens up.

Of course, being a deputy sheriff has its perks. It means I can do outside work as security at local events, or at one of the schools as a resource officer if I wanted to.

Ah, roger. Yeah, and not only can you work side jobs, but being a fully sworn peace officer has other advantages as well (CCW for one :D).

I am a petroleum geologist and work for a state regulatory agency.

Steve,

I laughed at your "location" but it fits for your occupation.
I never have gotten familiar with Lat/ Long. I prefer UTM/ MGRS. It's a lot easier to use IMHO. :D

Service Advisor for a decent sized Heavy Duty Truck Sales/Service corporation. What time I'm not in pursuit of my Master's in Psychology (en route to my doctorate, hopefully), and running wilderness survival courses (trying to get a school started in Eastern Kentucky is a bitch...).

Some days I get a kick outta my job, some days I'm just lookin' for places to bury bodies...
Praying like hell business stays good and the libtards don't try to bankrupt the coal and trucking industry...or else I'm f--ked...

If geologists were real scientists, they (we) would use the metric system. :D

I'm an Executive Chef for an upscale retirement community.
Before that I was a chef at a catering company for fifteen years.
What a difference. Great hours and no heavy lifting.
