What is your passion?

I hope to rediscover some of my former passions this year. I've been skiing for forty years, fat tire riding for thirty years and was an avid climber for more than twenty five years before I entered my slug phase. I have, however, been doing a fair amount of hiking and SUP in recent years. I just like being outside.

Jeff

good deal Jeff. i've always wanted to try SUP. and now, i know i'm going to show my ignorance here  ... but what is "fat tire riding". is that just slang for mountain biking? or is that a specific type of riding? i know i could google it, but that's no fun. ;)

It's just mountain biking, but since I don't live in the mountains...

We do have several fantastic trail systems within a thirty minute drive from my home. I also have tons of great paddling spots close by.

I really have no excuses for not getting out more.

next time i get down to Fla, i guess i'm going to have to look you up. ;)

Mine too, but that one was a given!

Well in my line of work thats all I have time for. I am home 52 days out of the year because I am hard a work providing for my family's needs. They are and always will be my passion. I would, some day, like to take them on a driving vacation and show them some of my most favorite driving routes and see some I haven't driven. Someday, someday.

if you work hard enough that your family is your passion, then God bless ya. i can definitely respect that. i hope you get to that "someday."

Me too. Actually, to be honest, all I want is to provide my family a house. We live in a two bedroom apartment and my teeny bopper kids share a room so small that one has to get dressed in our room and the other has to use the bathroom to change because all that will fit in their room are the two beds. I work like crazy to get and keep caught up but man it would be nice to give them a house to call home. My daughter is 18 and will graduate this year and my son is 16 and is a sophomore. They are good kids as good as anyone could ever hope for especially in todays f+!ked up world. They deserve rooms of their own and God willing I will do just that.I want them to have a place that is theirs and safe to come home to and will be there while they complete their education. That is really my passion.

man. i hope you reach your dreams, but i'll tell you what....even if you don't, it sounds like your kids will respect their hard working dad and appreciate what they get in their life. there's something to be said for that these days. and, it sounds like you are giving them that everyday.

cheers Ron. and, thanks for sharing.

don't be sorry. even though we're all mostly strangers, we're all family here. does that makes sense?

Thank you for posting that Ron. Hits home for me too,I have a pregnant wife and a two year old in a small two bedroom apartment. All I want is to give my girls a house to live and grow in. Maybe one day. Keep on working hard and you'll get there. Just keep doing what you're doing and good things will happen. Thanks again!

Right now my passion is making knives and going to school (welding). I lost my job a while ago so i dont have the money to go anywhere ergo i stay home and work on my knives.

I live in northern Wisconsin and heat with wood so my passion is cutting wood. Seriously though, just being out in the woods with my boys messing around, shooting longbows and hunting. I also have sheep, goats and chickens. I suppose my true passion is providing for my family off the land God has blessed me with.
