What is your "pet peeve" when it comes to knives?

Blade play is my biggest peeve, even the slightest.
Uneven grind lines.
Dull knives.
Cheap steel in an otherwise decent knife.
Cheap knives.
Tanto combo edged knives.
Company's that send out dull knives.I can't stand that either.
Cold steels over the top marketing
Lynn Thompson.

I hate when people write "knifes" or "knive" on bladeforums. This is a knife forum, you'd think people would be able to spell knife correctly.

I also hate bladeplay.

Haha that' s a good one:thumbup:
I hate blade play in any direction and dull knives NIB..

When someone asks to check out your liner or framelock knife and trys to close it in the opposite direction causing the framelock to touch the other liner!!!!:grumpy:

This only happened to me once and luckily it was on a cheaper Kershaw Shallot but from now on I ALWAYS show people how to close the knife BEFORE I hand it over! You'd think that it would be common sense but to the sheeple I guess its not.

Knives with a thesis paper written on them. I don't want to see the brand name, patent numbers, manufacturing dates, etc. all crapped up on the blade. Just keep it classy and sterile like Chris Reeve.

+1...not interested in "billboard" makers names or logo's covering 1/3-1/2 of a blade or cheesy vibro etching

I do really like makers that identify the blade steel with a stamp.

2. To watch someone thumb check the sharpness or try and shave the hair on their arm with a blade....the reason Band-Aids are such a hit at a lot of knife shows.

What is weird about either of those things? Maybe shaving with someone's knife is a little strange, but show me someone who cuts himself while checking the sharpness and I will show you someone who is doing it wrong.

Thumb studs on only one side. If it's a one-hander I should be able to both open and close the blade with either hand.

Being new to knife collecting and making the mistake of buying the Tom Brown Tracker for all your bushcraft needs!!! :(

Seriously? Wow. Just wow.

For me it's a toss up in blade centering and blade play.

EDIT: And NO one uses my knife but me.
