What is your pick for best self defense Spydie

I think I’d punch kick and run before I’d be able to reach for a knife. Every situation is different and you as the victim have no plan of attack (defense) unlike the assailant. They know how and what they want to do and what their end goal is.

So if I were in a situation where I needed to I’m intrigued by the matriarch with a signet ring. The more grip area and retention/control you have the better.

I don’t recall anyone saying what they would do it they were disarmed or dropped their knife. Now the attacker has all the tools.... which is why I would stand by my first option to use what god gave me then run.

I haven’t had any training as of yet but looking into it.

Spydercos are good about locking into the hand and being sturdy enough to use for defense. It's more important where you cut than what you use, but overall any edged tools will be considered lethal force and mean serious legal trouble. I stopped carrying a knife exclusively for SD.

I think impact weapons are superior in defensive use. They have more reach, can break an arm holding a weapon, and take an attacker down in an instant, but can't always be carried practically or legally. Still, most people underestimate what they can do with a quick and well placed punch.

There was a guy near where I live that was in an altercation outside a bar, was knocked over, hit the pavement and later died from hitting his head. Not cool but it goes to show that just knocking someone to the ground can do immediate and lasting harm, at a minimum enough to get away from a bad situation.

Best idea is to avoid trouble by any means possible.

I don’t personally carry with sd purposes in mind at all really, but just wanted to say the Gayle Bradley Junction is a great concealable blade. I’ve been carrying iwb at 3:00 position and it’s so slim you can hardly feel it’s there. Moving/sitting/driving its pretty comfortable. The handles might be a little slick for serious carriers but it’s a great fixed blade package.

My Spydie feet or last resort my Spydie Glock. If I am using a pocket knife for self defense things have gone horribly horribly wrong.

That would be my choice as well.

I'd probably get one Glock Spydie with the 45ACP steel and use a small Glock Spydie, the one with the 9mm+ steel, as a backup.

If I run out of ammo there is always my trusty Spyderco Gayle Bradley.

Of all the Spyderco knives I've used and owned, the original Chinook seemed the best for self defense.
