What is your plan for the end times?

No matter how the end times may come what are some of your preparations? I hope that it'll never happen, but in my experience it's always better to be prepared. It may be zombies, a asteroid hit, volcanic eruption, tsunami, solar flares, world war etc... Do any of you guys have a survival plan for the end of days? We where discussing this in some of my veterans forums & I thought this was a good topic. With 2012 approaching & all the world turmoil I think it's wise to have a plan for if the ish hits the fan?

Whether it be neighbor vs. neighbor, or zombies my plan is to move light & fast. No sapi plates, at the most I'm thinking soft armor. Head protection would prob be a spec ops pro-tec helmet w/ surefire helmet led, nv mount. I just invested in some multi-cams, good boots & full molle harness with a thigh rig. 3L camelback is a must, trauma pack, shotshell holder, pistol holder & extra magazine, esee-6 molle locked blade, mini survival kit etc... as far as other preparations I keep mre's, extra water & a 72 hour kit in the house just in case. Firepower will be a mossberg 500 tactical able to shoot #1 & 00 shot & slugs & a taurus .40 with extended magazines.

Thought we could discuss anything related to survival, tactical planning, hardware etc... I may be paranoid, but I'd rather be prepared & not have to use my gear, than need it & not have anything ready.

Figured this would be a good thread here to get some advice from the experts. What are your preparations/plans, what gear, supplies do people suggest. Any tips/tricks from the pro's on survival?
 
My plan is to eat light, fast moving, and soft armored prey shot from rifle distances. With fava beans and a nice chianti.

LOL, good responses. I'm not trying to be overly dramatic. I just watched a show on the history channel about a global pandemic & it got me to thinking.
 
2012 is going to be a bigger let down than 2000 was. I can't wait to hear the backpedaling when were not all dead.

As for when and if the shtf, I prefer to not have a plan. Just going to have to roll with it.
 
Well, I frankly doubt any one dramatic event will trigger the end, I think it'll be more of a slow slide as it has been.

Thus my "zombie plan" is to, over time, continue to grow my preps and my knowledge base.

I'd like to move out to a bit more of a rural area, small town. Get at least a couple gas tanks away from the big city.

Learn to be as proficient with my weapon systems as possible.

Get the Mrs. through nursing school.

Teach my kids all the skills that they can't learn from school.

Learn to grow my own food more efficiently and how to care for stock animals.

Learn the ins and outs of providing rural security to my homestead and also the town it's a part of.

Learn to and aquire the equipment to reload my own ammo and work on my own guns.

The list goes on and on.
 
Almost forgot, not to pick your plan apart, but you'll be alot better off in a bad situation looking like a redneck than you would looking like a merc.

Be the grey man, blend in and don't draw attention to yourself. Keep your guns out of sight until the last possible minute.
 
im set to bug in ... but if i need to jet , i have a secondary BOL. i have food for 1 year for a small group. and seeds if need be. i also have back up generators , extra fuel , solar panels , water filteration and treatment , tools and equipment to build and maintain. and it only gets better every year.

honestly im best prepared for weather ... i feel the zombies arnt going to be much of an issue out this way...

Yea, until you make enough noise to gather a herd. All it takes is a single gunshot. One follows the next until they don't even know what they're moving toward anymore. Just mindlessly moving in your direction, gathering more and more shamblers together as they go like a snowball moving down a mountain, getting bigger and bigger.

Then one herd runs into another and there's 1000, 2000, 10000 shamblers coming in your direction.

Oh yea, you can just bed down and wait for them to pass right?.......

Until one of them brushes against your door by accident and another sees him and thinks he's trying to get in and he tries to get in and then more and more of them are trying to get to a noise none of them even heard. And that noise is you.

You ever see what 200 shamblers can do to a house? Board up all you want, they'll find their way in.

No, you need to worry just as much as us suburban folks, you just have a little longer to do it.

also .... i have levels of preped gear

psk -> bob -> inch -> truck loaders -> trailer.

personal survivial kit can be worn on me or throw into ->
my Bob which contains a decent supply of light basic gear. but it can be stuffed inside my INCH which is huge but still not my max weight whill giving me up to a month of travel if need be. but it also fits inside->
Truck boxes which are mainly set up for remote work and maintaince , camping gear , water. all modular and easy to open up and fill the back of my truck. all compartmentalized and orgonized.

the trailer is actualy a slowly evolving place for extra equipment that we haul up to the BOL to run power tools and lights for the couple days up there we get to work on it... also carrys extra propane, gas and fuels and some electronic devices , and water/water treatment/ larger burner for hot showers etc.
 
Well I have read, watched and listened to more opinions on what is going to happen that now I have no clue as to what is going to happen. from what I watched on the Tv we have NASA saying one thing, our Government saying another, scientist saying something about this global polar shift. according to science this polar shift has happened several times already but when it does it takes place over a span of 100 million years or so. so I really don't know what to expect. If in fact we have a ploar shift and it happens very very fast like in the movie "2012" then I guess what ever I have in my backpack or strapped around my waist really won't do much for me.

Now- as in the Maya predictions, I find it very interesting to read and learn what they say will happen but even they are saying there will simply be a new coming, or a new world. they beleive the world goes through cycles or phases and we will simply be leaving one phase and starting the earths new life/phase. now, what does that mean? not sure.
