What is your prefered blade length on an EDC right pocket folder?

LF pocket generally has a ~3" EDC. Some times, a larger - up to nearly 4" - rides in the LR. The RF carries something a lot louder. Knives are tools to me - not weapons.

Generally I'm more concerned with how comfortable the handle is than the blade size. Just about any size knife can be effective if the handle is comfortable.

But as a rule, I don't typically like folders smaller than two inches or larger than four. My ideal knife would be somewhere in the 3.25 to 3.5 inch range. Less than two inches and the handle is hard to work with (there are exceptions) and larger than four is just too big to carry around clipped to a pocket.

My EDC is a Benchmade 710, and I love the knife, but it's just about half an inch too long.

i find the BM710 to have a perfect size EDC (folder) blade, but it's not just about length. if it was wider, it would probably be too big (for EDC utility). i believe it's 3.9"

i've pulled it out, in front of women who work in an office setting, to open packages and had them say "wow, that's a big knife" i was just like "you're funny, this thing is tiny"

many of my EDC's are 4" some are 3.5" but very few. My dress up blades are in the 2.5"-3" range. I prefer the largest blade length, with the slimest handle possible that I can legally carry.

If it's light enough then 3.5-4 in max. I'm talking no heavier than a Delica or Pacific Salt (perfect) weight.

Hold a 710 next to an Endura. Both knives carry well for different reasons, but the 710 looks tiny next to the Endura, when it's actually a bit bigger than the Endura.

I wish Benchmade made a 710 style knife in a size between the 710 and 705. I love the blade size of the 705/7 but the handle isn't comfortable to me, so a half inch more on the handle would be just about perfect.

For me I like 2.75"-3.5" for pocket EDC. Seems to be the perfect range, but I lean towards 3.5".

I always carry two knives with the one in my left front pocket being a slipjoint, and the one that does most of my work. As for my right front I like nothing shorter than 3.5", and will go up to 6.0", but the average is around 4".

I like to carry a folder in the range of 3.5'-4'. I usally always have a small keychain knife also for the non-knife people that need to cut something.

Give or take 3". I have longer knives, but when I carried one most of the time I ended up not using it (and use the tiny blade on my LM Squirt P4) because it freaks people out. A 3" blade that I use is better than a 4" blade that I don't.

I like to go with either small non-locking blades under 2" [SAK Cadet or stockman pattern] or with a tactical at 4" [Spyderco Military, Buck 880SP, or Benchmade 710HS].

For around the house, in-between is best [Spyderco Paramilitary].

The 2 folders I have been rotating for a while now both have 3.75" blades. My preference is about 3.5"-4".
