and eventually a custom version of that with a larger blade made of Elmax and scales made of titanium.

The one you see there is s30v.

tactical knife = killing knife. I'll post my rajah II when it comes. For now My tacticle knife is a SPYDERCO CRICKET!!!!!!!!!!! RAWWWWR! U wont even see it coming!

You know, the knives people carry when out of school for the Summer.

Maybe you could define "tactical" for me.

According to the dictionary: 'Tactical': related or pertaining to tactics. Tactics: the body of rules to which military operations must conform. So, I need to ask, since I have no miltary experience whatsoever: Is there any situation or miltary operation where a knife is the key element?

If I were back on active duty I would have a CS SRK on my belt most days and possibly a Recon Scout for a longer deployment or when I needed a bit more heft. I am not taking anything away from other popular blades like the Fallkniven A1/F1/S1 or the Bark River knives but, since I don't have them I can't speak about them. Listening to the people that carry them in combat or on duty, I would think all the above are very good candidates.

I am also a bit vanilla in that I also love the plain old USMC Ka-Bar.

I guess you could consider almost all of my knives 'tactical'. Most of folding knives are pretty speedy, modern one-hand openers, the Vic. Pioneer/Farmer are modeled after an old military knife, my Gerber Yari is black and partially serrated with a tanto point and some writing on the blade for good measure...

So, yeah, pretty much my whole collection (slipjoints, fixed blades, and all) is balls-to-the-wall tactical. What now?

Based on that definition, and that the majority of active and former military on forums say that what they used most while active was a good multitool....I'm going to say my Leatherman Blast.

I don't know if that is the kinda thing the OP is looking for though....

I just use an M1A2 Abrams main battle tank and an aircraft carrier main battle group to support me with air coverage and a few batallions of infantry. In case the SHTF I can always call in a B-2 Bomber with a few tactical nuclear warheads! I also use fluffy the destroyer of worlds in case all else fails too!

jk...I have a xm-18 but my favorite tactical devise is calling 911 on my cell phone!
