My tactical knife is a Glock 19.....if I have that and still have to pull a knife, tactics have pretty much gone out the window at that point...

+1, but it's nice to have emergency failover for all situations. My stainless steel toothpick is my final tool of defense if my legs don't work.

I don't carry a knife for defensive purposes, that responsibility lies with my hand gun of choice that day. But, if I had to pick one, it would be my Military or Tasman Salt.

Spyderco chinook3, Sog pentagon eliteII (5inch blade), emerson cqc 13 or commander,I have used the manix2 to successfully stave off an attacker...My backup knife is a Ruger sr9c or Lc9 LOl! both have proven to be very reliable.

didnt you see Restrepo? what do you think those guys did with that cow that got caught in the barbed wire?

If I remember correctly, Restrepo is/was a base in Afghanistan, named after a US soldier (or Marine), who died in the line of duty (don't remember the incident of the cow). Seriously now, I think that what I mean to say is that the name "tactical knife" is a misnomer, in the sense that a knife, no matter its size or shape, is more of a tool than a combat weapon nowadays; it's more like a last ditch implement, that is, if things get to the point that you are using knives, then things are seriously wrong. Correct me if I'm mistaken, but it's is my understanding that the US Army and the Marine, no longer teach bayonet techniques to the recruits or knife figthing. Of course, being a physician, maybe I'm not the best qualified person to argue the point.
My point: maybe, instead of "tactical", this knives should be called "military issue knives" or something like that.

Here is mine, sorry for the crap cellphone pic. As you can see it has quite an incredible reach; and if there isn't time enough to deploy the blade, it can be used as a yawara or even a club.

I just need to coat the blade black, and stain the handle ebony :D
And maybe even reshape the bottom of the handle to a point

Looks like it already got tactical on your thumb

Nah, actually I was working on a custom sheath for a Mora #3, and I got it to have a bit too much retention in a deep sheath. Wasn't enough handle exposed to get a good grip and I had my left hand in a bad spot, didn't slice it with the edge, just caught the corner of the back of the blade. Gouged it pretty deep though.
