What jobs use knives a lot?

A chef needs to be skilled in various daily tasks, including butchering. Almost all require a knife in hand.

All jobs require a knife. Some make you use a safety box cutter, or childproof scissors instead.

when i worked in construction everyone needed a blade because you are cutting different materials all day long whether its dry wall, shaving your pencil, opening packages, cutting string etc.....however most people used those cheap husky disposable blade knives for this work and not their actual pocket knives. i would see guys in construction with knives like benchmades and kershaws sometimes but they would keep them in their pocket while the husky was used for the work. that being said, the cheap husky with the disposable blades actually does make a pretty decent cheap edc and they are fun to play with with your bored.

Just teaches you to be more careful, pain is a good teacher. Meanwhile, I'll use the shitty box knife and leave my Buck 119 concealed like God intended :D

In construction I use a utility knife mostly. But I have carried a Spyderco Tenacious and sometimes an ESSE3. I use the utility knife the most, but the other two really come in handy too depending, and I've done a lot with them.
I do carry nicer knives sometimes but usually try not to use them on the job unless I have to. Usually they stay in the truck and I switch out when I am going somewhere where I'm not quite as physical directly. They still get used though.

I honestly have to watch carrying my nice knives, I'll use them for anything. Messed up a waved Endura pretty bad scraping dried glue, and covered my 2 Benchmades in putty/sticky residue. Rolled the edge on a custom when I hit the sheath getting out of a vehicle and it bounced across the parking lot.
