what kind of fixed blades do you carry, if any?

I used to carry a basic #5 everyday, now I carry my new Mean Street on me. And don't forget about the good old Battle Mistress on Backpacking trips. Later, Jeff

Small ones usually unless hunting, in which case the Master Hunter or Roselli hunter goes into the daypack. Frost's laminated steel (jogging, neck sheath), Marble's Fieldcraft, Colorado Cutlery small hunter fit nicely in a front pocket or on the belt if wearing a jacket.

I DO, I DO!!!
Lately my folders are spending more time in my gun safe. I carry mostly my own designs including prototype models being field tested. I'm just finishing the sheath for my first, very own, Talonite Small Hunter/Utility. Everyone has their own preferred method of carry. I like neck sheaths and IWB. I will often go with a traditional leather sheath if I'm hunting or fishing.

I like carrying 3/16- 1/4 thick single edged FBs specifically from Busse. Like Salamander, the Basic #5 and Mean Street, as well as the Police Recruit. I do like the prybar analogy.

However, I do pretty well with the thinner Spyderco Moran. I prefer 7-9" OA knives for daily, for harder, harsher, I'd like 9"-10" and thick.

I have a few small fixed blades that I carry from time to time.
1) Bob Dozier neck knife, I usually carry this one when I don't have any pockets. It's small enough to not attract attention, and takes a wicked razor sharp edge.
2) RJ Martin Kozuka and Mini Kozuka. I love chisel ground fixed blades, and RJ makes some good ones. I "show off" by cutting free hanging paper, which never fails to impress.
3) My most recent one, a Bud Nealy Khinzal II. This one vanishes on my person, the MCS is really awesome.

I've usually got at least one FB on me at any given time, range consists of;
Simonich D2 Hawkbill Cetan in CF Concealex
REKAT Fang or Utility
Running Dog Lil Pup
Spyderco Moran in Edge Works sheath
Gerber Guardian Backup(an under-rated design)

I got a REKAT UNK and a Fang a few weeks ago. Love them both and have carried them quite a bit lately. I like to carry the Fang SOB to augment my folders when I take a walk at night. The UNK is great for neck carry when I'm driving as folder access is fairly restricted.

I love fixed blades and the only folders I currently carry are my Sebenza and Buck 532 or 110 in BG42. I usually alternate but I usually carry:

Day to day
Lynn Griffith Tracker or Sniper or Patrolman or Expert. I also carry my Ed Fowler Proghorn. Also later this week I am getting my new Matt Lamey utility knife!

Woods and hiking
Matt Lamey "Mutha" (big camp knife) or my Lamey fighter. I will also carry a Drew Gleason (Corduroy) Hunter or symmetrical hunter or stag hunter. I will also carry a Lynn Griffith SOS Bowie.

I much rather carry a FB than a folder. In town I will carry my Buck or Sebbie but normally I will have a FB on me.

I always have a FB with me. I used to carry a Cold Steel Desperado. Now I carry IWB a Large version of Lynn Griffith's Patrolman(shown below)

I highly recommend the Desperado for anyone who wants a comfortable workhorse at a great price.

And as far as the Patrolman goes, it is the greatest knife purchase I have ever made. I recommend this kniffe to EVERYONE!

The bottom knife is the Patolman as standard. The knife above the Patolman is the "large" Patrolman. The Patrolman is about 7.25" overall. The large Patrolman is 9.25" overall.

I always carry a FB while walking. Usually a mid size D2 Madpoet in a swinger sheath, but lately I sometimes carry a forged O2 blade by Tinus Beukes (S. Africa) or my latest favorite, a Tim Wegner design made by Phil Boguszewski in 440v- Blade tech/tek-lock sheath. 9" of serious ordnance can be carried very covertly.

In my coat I carry a larger fixed bladed knife, the new Don Fogg Tanto I just got or the CS Culleden sometimes rides there, but on the belt I wear, as today for a fact, a David Boye Persona with Desert Ironwood handle and dendretic steel blade, nice and small and no one gets scared when I take it out to slice open a coffee bag or cut a box or trim off the random thread off their suit, though they do raise an eyebrow when I do that....

Almost always have either my Alan Folts Mantis or my Tim Britton Mamba III on me somewhere. To be honest, the mantis is easier to conceal, but the Mamba is easier to just slip on and off when I want to. The Mamba's prettier too, but still not as pointy or razorish as the Mantis.

Hey Guys....

I cycle through my Fallknivens a lot ,,but lately I've been packing my Spydie Moran..It's fast becoming my favorite knife to carry....

It is not always possible to carry a FB especially as the weather warms up but I pretty much make it a habit to have one close at hand. I carried a Nealy Aikuchi for a while but lately I've wanted something a little more robust so I went to a Ricky Fowler drop point design thats around 8" OAL out of 3/16" stock (O1). This knife has a very satisfing heft to it that I found lacking in the Aikuchi.

I carry either the Talonite brother to JW's Wegner fixed, or a puukko in a Bob Schrap custom alligator sheath IWB. The Wegner is slightly larger at 4.25".

I agree with Louis . . . I carry daily a carbon copy of his Lynn Griffith Patrolman, even down to the handle color. The knife is a real handy size . . . hardly know you have it with you, and is big enough for most jobs. The ATS 34 takes and holds a good edge . . .
