If I'm working around the house (outside), sometimes I clip the nifty cross draw kydex sheath of a Bob Dozier knife of one type or three to my belt. (Slim Outdoorsman or one of his hunting models I had him tweak the designs on). Usually just a beefy folder out of 440V, soon to be some 420V stuff.
It I get stuck in a suit coat (whew, only occasionally), nothing better than Bud Nealy's absolutely fantastic MCS kydex sheath, carried upside down, suspended from the suit pocket inside left of the coat. Quick draw, totally comfortable standing or sitting. And very discrete. (My favorite Nealy design is the PeshKabz, hands down. Strong point that is VERY pointy, hollow ground super sharp edge, a very clever grind I might add, somewhat of an index finger guard, very slim and concealable with comfort, his best effort yet)
Scouting around the hunting lease, anything from a Fallkniven S1 or a Dozier Ranger in Kydex, to a Busse Battle Mistress (if I know I'm building a trail, chopping, etc). I'll add the Blackie Collins designed machetes with the "D" guard handles are great. Guard doesn't impede chopping nor abrade hands. For $17-$20, the tip velocity of an 18" to 22" machete is wicked and effective when chopping.
Actually hunting: anything from Dozier in D2 (outstanding cost effective working knives) to custom David Broadwell's in Mike Norris stainless damascus or Norris San Mai (440v core). Bigger Dunkerly for skinning chores (man, is his 52100 sharp. Yikes)
