what kind of fixed blades do you carry, if any?

My most recent FB for urban carry is an RJ Martin Kozuka - Thanks John ! Past blades include a Randall #8 w/a Guardian style walnut handle, a dinky little Ed Fowler drop pt., a Hartsfield Kozuka, a Dozier Pro Skinner and Straight Personal.

Right now, i carry a Cold Steel Mini-Culloden
neck knife around....it is illegal to carry a knife around, that's why i chose the mini-culloden as it is a neck knife which is easily concealable and yet is long enough to do damage to any attacker...to stop his aggression.....and btw, has anyone tried replacing the neck chain or paracord of any slightly longer neck knifes with a shorter one and wearing that knife at your sides...meaning wearing it like one would wear a hand bag...?? please advise...

Since I missed this the first time around and someone was kind enough to bring this back up…

I have been carrying a Neil Blackwood talonite hunter/utility this week, my first chance with using a knife with this materiel. I must say that Neil shipped me the knife very sharp, it has a very shallow hollow grind on a drop point blade. The handle is very slim and comfortable, and the contrast to the wide blade gives the knife a very sexy line. The fit and finish is excellent, polished burgundy micarta scales and a satin finish on the blade, and the thing just keeps cutting.

More later, I promise, with pictures…

While we're on the subject, could anyone tell me how to pronounce "puukko?" It's kinda weird telling people who ask what kind of knife that is that it's a "puke-o."

Hello.

I prefer commando-type dagger.
Original F-S dagger is about 6 inches long.
I always want to carry shorter dagger.
My choose is HERBERTZ 101812.
It is only 5 inches long and perfectly fit to
usual pants pocket.
I carry two 101812 knives. One in right pants
pocket. Second in my back, under my vest, horizontal handle to right.

Bye, bye.
Greetings from Poland.
(sorry for my bad, bad english)

Glad this popped back up. Benchmade 140HS in a custom Concealex sheath by our very own Normark. Usually IWB, right side, angled 45 degrees back.

Outside of a dog, a Knife is man's best friend. Inside a dog it is very, very Dark.

I carry a TOPS model#302 Interceptor in a small
of the back sheath. What a great Blade! I also
carry either a Hatin TEC neck knife or a Kurt
Meerdink three finger neck knife.

Pronouncing puukko? Hard to teach! I'll try something - actually I should send waw-file but I don't have properly recources.

Word puukko is composed of two syllables puuk - ko.

The puuk starts like in put but the uu is audible ca. two times longer u. K in the end of first syllable is like in the beging of corn. SO its like peak but uu instead of ii.
Last syllable is almost like corn without rn -sounds.

Don't try to shorten double kk in the middle of word.

The emphasis is on P and only in slightly lesser amount on kk.

If you want to practice you should pronounce both syllables alone and then shorten the time interval between. When there is none or only wery little gap between puuk and ko (if one talks slowly the gap between syllables is actually hearable) the pronouncing is ready

I'll have to tape the right pronouncing some time.

I had carried a Nimravus in a custom Kydex "micro harness" from Edge Works.
I was "forced" into selling it when my fathers best freind, the kind of friend that your dad gave "whoppin' rights" to, wanted to buy it. I have another Nimravus available to me now and will be building a new rig soon.

If I'm working around the house (outside), sometimes I clip the nifty cross draw kydex sheath of a Bob Dozier knife of one type or three to my belt. (Slim Outdoorsman or one of his hunting models I had him tweak the designs on). Usually just a beefy folder out of 440V, soon to be some 420V stuff.

It I get stuck in a suit coat (whew, only occasionally), nothing better than Bud Nealy's absolutely fantastic MCS kydex sheath, carried upside down, suspended from the suit pocket inside left of the coat. Quick draw, totally comfortable standing or sitting. And very discrete. (My favorite Nealy design is the PeshKabz, hands down. Strong point that is VERY pointy, hollow ground super sharp edge, a very clever grind I might add, somewhat of an index finger guard, very slim and concealable with comfort, his best effort yet)

Scouting around the hunting lease, anything from a Fallkniven S1 or a Dozier Ranger in Kydex, to a Busse Battle Mistress (if I know I'm building a trail, chopping, etc). I'll add the Blackie Collins designed machetes with the "D" guard handles are great. Guard doesn't impede chopping nor abrade hands. For $17-$20, the tip velocity of an 18" to 22" machete is wicked and effective when chopping.

Actually hunting: anything from Dozier in D2 (outstanding cost effective working knives) to custom David Broadwell's in Mike Norris stainless damascus or Norris San Mai (440v core). Bigger Dunkerly for skinning chores (man, is his 52100 sharp. Yikes)

Except when getting on a commercial flight I carry an OME backpack with a Carson U2 on one side and a Carson Stelite paring utility knife on the other. Sometimes I wear a REKAT fang or utility neck knife. This is urban d2d carry. When I am in the field it just depends on my task. Folders are only when I cann't carry anthing else.

Cheers,

ts
