I owned several of these and they never fit my hand right so I sold them on. For some reason I’ve been getting the itch to try one again.

The sound of this one is pretty sweet. Little click of the detent and big click during lockup, kind of sounds like a bolt cycling.

It seems pretty hard to find any real info on Shirogorov knives such as their processes but I’ve wondered how they get some of the angles cut or milled that they do. I’m even more curious now!

Wire edm is expensive but very accurate . I’d be curious why a knife manufacturer would even use it given the cost to benefit ratio.

It's a way to cut tall thin features without cutting pressure.

The Case/Bose collaboration knives have their parts all wire edm cut. Case knives has some videos you can watch showing how they use it to cut the parts to match templates that have already been hand fit by Tony Bose. It allows them to create a knife that’s pretty close* to a TB custom.

*still far from the real thing though.

No rubber sheet to
A) protect the finish on some of those
B) stop them from sliding if you open/close the drawer a tad too fast/forcefully?

I will certainly do that. I just set this drawer up yesterday and was already thinking something to do exactly what you described. A rubber sheet is a great idea. Hopefully, I can find something large enough for the drawer!

I was about to order a rubber sheet but these seemed better. So ordered one! Thanks M Mendoman and B bluemax_1 for the advice.
