I got a Leatherman Wave.

I picked it out myself because my wife had no idea what type of multi-tool to get me. Sometimes it's nice to "have" to pick out your own presents.

When I unwrapped my Wave, I was all grins. My wife's (non-knife person) response was "Yeah, great. Another knife."

James, I did not get a knife for Christmas, either.

But, I did get my Umfaan for my birthday on Dec 23rd! I guess that I can count that as a knife for Christmas.

I got my dad a Wave for Christmas and he loves it- maybe he will use this one!

I usually wait until January to do any knife purchasing when the first bonus check comes. That is my Christmas.

Well, the Home Office absolutely refused to get me anything sharp & pointy this year, but I did win a Newt Livesay S.O.F. Woo from a contest on his website. (Thanx Again!). I also ordered a chute knife of my own design from Rick Ludwig who is a knifemaker here in Queens, NYC. It won't be ready for a while, but hey, the wait just makes it sweeter. I'm also looking at a knife by Dr. Lathe- (next in line)

Gave myself a BenchMade Pardue 720 Axis for Christmas. I got it from Mike Payne, which, as it turned out, was his first Internet order, and it was all that I had heard it to be. I am very pleased with it. It is a nice little knife.

Well, it's a good thing I got my dad into knives this fall. :-) He drew my name from the "gift hat" and pulled through with an Outdoor Edge Impulse. Great knife BTW.

Oh yeah, the folks also got me a grinder, so I can make my own knives next Christmas!!!

I got two small Kabar knives for whittling (2501 & 2502), two, two-bladed SAKs (pocket pals) for whittling (yes, you can get an SAK with only two blades)

, I am still waiting for my micarta-handled Marble Woodcraft (long story there), a Warren Carving set (these are real beauties and SCARY SHARP!), a Murphy carving knife (simple but elegant and comfortable), and my Snow and Nealley 3/4 Hudson Bay Crusin' axe is in the mail.

I feel kinda guilty getting all these toys but I sure do enjoy them. All but the Marble were Christmas presents (the Marble was a present to myself). The Warren Carving set is exceptional and I've already used it to make a nice big pile of shavings on my basement floor. Thanks Santa!
