What kind of knife person are you?

Doing an analysis of my knives, here's what I am:

350 knives all together. 1% (n=3) are users. 30% (n=106) are specific Collections. And the remaining 69% were bought for no particular reason, or Accumulated.

So I'm mostly an Accumulator.

I just like sharp and pointy things. :p

I love the high end stuff, but I like affordable stuff too. I have users and collectables both, of all shapes and sizes.

Some knives I buy just because of their function, some just because they look cool hanging on a wall. And I don't look down on guys who buy cheep stuff just because they like it. At least they have an interest in knives, so to me it's all good. :D

I'm a user. Over the last year and a half, I've whittled down my knife stack to just the dozen or so that I actually use several times a year. I also got rid of my "backups and spares". One of each is enough for me.

I'm definitely split 50/50. About half I am up for using, but the rest may be "too pretty" to actually use so they go into the collection. Hopefully with a new job I can move more toward 60/70 user

I'm a kayaker who enjoys Coen Brothers movies and long walks on the beach.

I just like knives and other sharp tools, never thought much beyond that.

User. Where I'm from, a fella must have six things on his person at all times:

1 & 2: balls
3: knife
4: wallet
5: watch
6: keys

Pretty simple ;)

Do you have a detachable unit? :D

My goal, though a dozen may be more like four dozen. :p

I like to go quality, and make sure every knife has a purpose. I have a kershaw skyline as my work/beater knife, a spyderco delica 4 for my EDC, an old uncle henry folder as my game cleaning knife, and an ESEE izula on the way as my outdoors knife. I think after that I need another knife for carrying in formal/dress attire, probably an all stainless.

OT:

What no phone.

I'd just as soon wear ankle chains as carry a gosh darn cell phone around everywhere. Who's going to call me anyway who's so important as I need to be in constant communication with them?

Who am I kidding... I've had a cell phone for years and no one ever calls me, so I simply stopped carrying it. LOL

I'm a user. I got rid of some excellent knives just because they weren't getting used. One that comes to mind is the Sage2. Just a superb knife but I never wanted to carry it over the Sage1 or Caly3 so it had to go.
Every so often when I get the urge, I'll reevaluate what I own and decide if I should purge or replace something from the collection of users.
