I love spyderco but do not like their serrations. They are kind of big and kind of tear things.

What company does the best?

It is very subjective, but if you think Spyderco's serrations are too big (no such thing in my book), look at Cold Steel's pattern or the rounded 'reverse serrations' Kershaw offers.

I think the company that first serrated pocket knives, Spyderco, does them the best. I don't believe in partial serrations myself. If I want a fine, controlled cut, I use a plain edge. If I want to rip through something as quickly as possible, I use a fully serrated Spyderco.

I think my personal favorite is the SOG recondo serrations. They ware made at an angle and all the same size, not different size teeth. They cut very well, look cool, and leave a cool pattern when carving wood.

If you think there is no such things as big serrations, try cutting a rope with a saw.

I find that course serrations tend to get caught and snag.

RAT Cutlery's serrations are about the best out there....but I am a plain edge guy...

Without reading the whole thread,I vote for Spyderco & Benchmade tied in first place, even though I hate serrations.

I hate serrations, but the Benchmade ones are pretty nice. The key is that they're real shallow, so they don't bind up.

Yea I forgot about SOG.They make good serrations,if your into that.

I don't care much for serrations these days, but years ago I had a Wenger Swiss Army Knife that had a serrated main blade....it cut better than any serrated blade I have ever used.

I like big nasty serrations if your going to have them on there make them work they way the should. To me the best serrations are done by Spyderco, Al Mar and Berretta. To me as well Benchmade's serrations are like having a plain edge with a uni-grind where they are.

Although CRKT is not my favorite knife and I don't like serrations in general, I think the Veff serrations CRKT uses are pretty nice and easy to resharpen IMO

crap, you took the words out of my mouth

CRKT's veff serrations go through rope like a hot knife through buttah

then again, you still have a CRKT :(
