In order to be sure I got SOMETHING and something I wanted this year. I bought a Hen and Rooster whittler in Green Picked Bone. :p

What in the wide world of traditionals did you get your very OWN self?

I always say "just a card you make yourself" and that's what I end up getting. This year I decided that I deserved a little something so I ordered a GEC White Owl in burnt stag. Can't wait!

I saw that just now over on the "wondrous" thread a few moments ago. I love green, neon green, tractor green, British racing green, olive drab... the works etc. Yours is no exception! Great knife! I had to tone down my spending otherwise I'd have gone for one that was a little more high-end.

Thank you Jake. Very kind of you to say. I am quite pleased with it's appearance; can't wait to start using it!

Funny you should ask, I like to go to the big outside flea market on Sundays and look around for old knives, I have picked up a Kabar peanut, and a Schrade small stockman, so I had a plan of flea market in the A.M. and then fishing in the afternoon, but........................

This arrived, it has a tube inside and is from a GEC distributor:-)
I have a short list of knives I wish to purchase, #62 courthouse spring green, and recently white owl.
It's torture what could it be?

LOL, my wife always asks me the same question, what did I buy myself for Father's Day. Until recently it would have been a watch, but this year it was a Peanut, an AG Russell Pinched Peanut in burl wood to be exact. Unfortunately it had to go back for replacement because the clip blade was up against the inner liner. Except for that, it's a sweet little knife, I can't wait for a replacement!

Before or after she tells you to go jump in a lake, I mean, drops you off to fish for the day? ;)

Both look really good, and both have good arguments to support them. I'm partial to the blue on yellow, but the black is way classic and clearly meant to be put to work.

Put me in the, "Buy Both!" camp, with an added, "then, give away the one you prefer less." :-)

Heh, how did you know I was going fishing :D Actually, the whole family goes, and my wife usually skunks us all, last Father's Day weekend she caught the biggest largemouth bass out of all of us(!)

I have this often-annoying habit of remembering what I read. ;)

...Sure did sound like they were going to leave you there! Ha. :-)

(I also somehow mistakenly mixed smart-alecking you with helping someone else pick the proper colored Buck. Whoops.)

I picked up this nice little 305 down at Blade during the Collectors Club meeting. Couldn't resist this little guy.

I also picked up a Becker BK11 at the show - I needed something to replace my Izula that I gave to a friend.

An old carbon steel Ranger three spring stockman off of the 'bay for a couple of dollars. BUT, I think that my wife and girls bought me a Case medium CV stockman with the yeller handles. We shall see.......

I bought a Nagao Higonokami with "damascus" blade instead of the plain san mai with a 100mm blade for myself. The wife bought me 2 Opinel 8's. I like to buy the better wood in the stainless and the matching carbon Opinel so I can swap the blades. With a bit of work on Father's day, I will have an Oak Opinel 8 with a Carbon blade!

Give me a Higonokami, Opinel, and a Stockman and I am set for pocket knives!

This Herman Williams modified Schrade USA LB3. His pictures, not mine, as it hasn't arrived yet.
