What knife did you buy for your own self for Fathers Day?

Funny you should ask, I like to go to the big outside flea market on Sundays and look around for old knives, I have picked up a Kabar peanut, and a Schrade small stockman, so I had a plan of flea market in the A.M. and then fishing in the afternoon, but........................

This arrived, it has a tube inside and is from a GEC distributor:-)
I have a short list of knives I wish to purchase, #62 courthouse spring green, and recently white owl.
It's torture what could it be?

My wife gave me this for my first fathers day 5:30am this morning with my coffee so I can enjoy using it all weekend, she did good, check one off the wish list.

First Fathers Day! Congratulations on that nice half congress. A wharnie in green, I'm green w/envy!

My father in law is a one knife kinda guy, I gave him a large linerlock sodbuster a year ago and thats all he uses (he needs a lock now days) so I got him a humidor and some good cigars.

I decided to make up for last year as well and got a Case Backpocket in Golden Rod with the modified skinner blade. I also picked up a GEC Northfield Model 72 in plum bone and wow the fit and finish on this little lock back is insane I love it.

I was just looking at pictures of Case's (new?) Golden Rod today. I'll bet it looks grand in person. Gots a back pocket big enough? ;)

I haven't yet but I'm thinking a Case (or other nice) Hobo. Since I found this place, and have been drooling over all kinds of knives all over the interwebs, I have seen more of these then I ever had in real life. Plus I seemed to have lost somewhere in time my old Boy Scout one.

I bought myself a BK2. I wanted to see what the fuss was all about, and.....WOW! This is a LOT of knife!!

Looks like I also need a #62 courthouse spring green. Nice looking knife!

The 2012 Traditional Forum Knife will be my Fathers day, (and Birthday and Christmas) present to myself or from my wife and kids,:)

I hasta wait.... :(

Not a father yet and glad I'm not (can't support any kids yet, gotta be responsible ), but I went ahead and got myself a Case Peanut in Red bone with the CV blades and a Svord Peasant Knife with the blue anodized aluminum handles.

That exact knife is near the top of my list of new knives when I win the lottery! The jigging, the shield, pinched and grooved bolsters and of course the wharncliffe! Great score for your first Daddy Day! Congratulations!

For various reasons, I won't buy one until next week. But I have my eye on a nice new Case knife in CV.

Howdy gents, Just a reminder that this is the Traditional forum and we are talking traditional knives. I just moved three overeager posts from fellas who were buying some of them thar new fangled one hand opening knives. I put the posts in General. Lets not over work the grumpy mods, please.;)

After years of hearing everyone talk them up, I finally got an Opinel. Got a number 6, and it is the perfect size. Large enough to handle just about any cutting chore a person can come across, but small enough to fit comfotably in your pocket. I didn't think it would be, since the handle is pretty round and wide, but it is so light, it carries more comfortably then the Case Soddie Jr, even though they are about the same size. It is an extremely simple design, and incredibly light, but seems pretty well built, and now I know why many people use Opinels as the measuring stick of sharp edges. This thin carbon steel blade is a laser. Am going to edc this little guy for a while and see how it does. Has already grown on me, but time will tell.
