What Knife Did You Use For Christmas Present Opening duty?

Spyderco Military combo...opened the seams on a big double thick cardboad box an air compressor came in like magic juju...factory edge still. I like this blade!

The short blade of a Swiss Army knife. It has opened all packages and envelopes that have come into this house since 1988. After each use it gets cleaned with lighter fluid and touched up with a butcher's steel.

This Christmas was very light around our house. I ripped open my two presents.

But my Victorinox Tinker cut my new blue M*gl!te 2D out of a TOUGH package! In fact it has cut damn near everything I have needed cut for several months now. A quickie touchup on Croc Stix and she's good to go.

Nice little 2" blade SOG lockback that I keep clipped to my keychain with a little spring-clip (also makes it easy to remove before I get on a flight these days). It does the job without freightening the children and old people.

I used my Leatherman Pulse. Mostly because I could use the screwdrivers to put things together and put batteries in. I also could use the wire cutters to cut the wire wraps that are used way too much.

Christmas is a traditional kind of time, so I just used a traditional kind of knife--a Scrade-Walden jigged bone Stockman.

The thinly ground, razor sharp blades made short work of wrapping paper, cardboard boxes, and zip ties.

I rolled an edge on some ribbon with wire in it, or actually my wife did, but a few passes on the Sharpmaker fixed that.
