What knife do you hate the most?

Out of the knives I've actually owned? SOG Flash II. First and last SOG I'll ever buy.

SOG Flash I for me, as above, won't buy SOG again, terrible CS. Might be a good knife, if you don't get a dud.

I hate things that are marketed as "tactical" to the general public. Maybe it works for the military, but for us regular guys who walk around in our local forests? Not so much.

Painted (sorry, "coated") blades, tantos, serrations, sharpened clips, big combat guards, finger cut outs and choils... all useless to me. Just give me a nice sharp straight edge with convex or scandi geometry - not too thick - and a decent handle with no gimmicks.

I particularly hate the Tom Brown Tracker - it tries to do too many things without doing the basics first.

I also really dislike "chopper" knives. Get an axe or a 'chete. Kukris are excluded of course because they're basically hatchets... but any knife used primarily for chopping makes me shake my head. The weight distribution is all wrong.

Small knives with thick bevels. It just doesn't make sense to me...Who uses small knives as pry bars?! At least I don't!

Edit: hehe I was to slow...bigmo66 already covered my point

Most days, I really hate the new Wilson Combat 'StarTac' CRK Umnumzaan I splurged on last September. It set the bar so stinking high, how can I ever enjoy another folder? I remember the good old days when a new Benchmade, Boker, Buck Custom Shop 110, that new ZT-301, or even a blemished Kershaw JYDII in Ti & SG2 made me smile like a cheshire cat. Then, I carry that 'zaan - and use it - and admittedly smile, thinking, "I'm not worthy... I'm not worthy...". Love-hate there, I suppose. Sour grapes - I cannot afford a CRK collection!

Okay - knives I really hate... My Gerber LMFII, a gift from #1 son, so it 'has to stay', is up there. My vast Tanto edged collection - which includes only a BM 760BK, a knife I otherwise like a lot. Anything serrated - even the 'wave' serration, like some Vic SAK's come with. If I wanted a 'saw', I'd grab a saw. I also hate 'pretty' knives - like my one wood handled Barkie - a bocote handled Boone. All of my other Bark River knives are users - micarta or G10 handles. Some of my Boker Tree Brand slippies are on the edge of looking too good for the pocket, too. No pink handles, either... like you can buy now on firearms - yucko!

Good grief I am picky!

Stainz

Those gil hibben & bud k fantasy knives & anything similar.useless junk ...

ANYTHING made by ESEE, Benchmade, Kershaw, or Spyderco...... i'm strictly a Dark Ops guy :D J/K

seriously, though, my one pet peeve is a coating over stainless steel. still think it's pointless. kind of like layin cheap carpet over a hardwood floor.

+1 I don't need to be extra stealthy cutting boxes or slicing apples.

WORST KNIFE, EVER!

Aside from the usual suspects...the highest discrepancy my expectations of a knife and reality has been the SOG Vulcan.. looks great on paper, total failure and letdown in real life.

i hate knives that can't be sharpened easily on a bench stone
s-curves, serrated, adamantium, etc.

also, i don't care for combo-edged tanto blades

My Rat-1 is the hardest to open folder I have. The dealer's response was: "I'm sorry to hear that."

I gave away my two SOGs.

A few of the Sanrenmus and related Chinese brands turned out to be not so good (the 710 being a notable exception.)

My two Enlans came with locks so weak I consider them too dangerous to use -- won't even gift them to people I don't care much for!

The hole is supposed to be an oxygen tank wrench. Yeah. Still doesn't make much sense on that type of knife. I have an older one sans holes and it is a fixture in my truck.

I'm a Buck Nighthawk fan also but, can't seem to come up with any oxygen tanks around the house to use the new one on...think I'll pass on the "New and Improved" one.;)
