What knife do you keep by your bed? !!Pics!!

In my early twenties, I lived in a dive apartment in a college town 7 hours away. Got robbed. Thankfully I wasn't home. They stole my 2 week old Playstation 2 and all the games, controllers, etc. I had just gotten it for Christmas. I've been paranoid ever since.

I check the doors and locks every morning before I leave for work, and every night before bed, and whenever I am passing by. My house is NEVER unlocked. Pisses my mother off, but I don't care. I live at home, as many of y'all know I moved home when I got sick with liver failure.

I sleep with a knife case on top of the end table next to my bed. Before I go to sleep I pick out the next day's carry and it sits there with my water bottle, wallet, etc. 2 feet from my bed is a gun cabinet with enough guns and ammo to defend a commune. Good thing I'm not David Koresh. There is a pistol downstairs in the family room/workshop/laundry room garage area in a pistol safe, and there is a pistol in my car's glovebox when I'm not carrying it.

When I lived alone I kept a pistol on the nightstand and a shotgun under the bed. Had another pistol in the kitchen and my M1 carbine under the couch.

Yeah I'm a functioning psycho.
The correct term would then be burglarized, you'd have to be present for robbing --- sorry, I couldn't help myself

I keep a Swisschamp in my nightstand. Saved me countless trips to the desk after I was already in bed.

Lol you are right. That was a question on my insurance licensing exam and CE.

Geee,
where all of you live? In war zone? Some sort of apocalyptic time pocket?
You need all those guns and knives to protect yourself during night? WTF
Is this democracy and free world all talking about here?🙄
WTF

A glass of water, flashlight, multiple dogs (main floor) a 13” Williams designed tanto, 15” James Helm tomahawk, and a S&W 686 plus .357. My wife thinks I am paranoid and she is most likely correct. Funny thing is before I was married really didn’t have anything. Responsibility is a funny thing

'Yes' to all of your questions.

It's better to have it and not need it, than it is to need it and not have it.

Like an oversupply of toilet paper during a Pandemic.

Leatherman Juice S2. Mine's an older one with both handles in flat orange. This one also goes in my range bag from time to time; it's great for pulling stovepiped 22LR casings out of an action.

I can't imagine why the Juice S2 is discontinued. I guess they were not hot enough sellers...

Can't tell IF you are joking or not???

But Yes....... One has to be careful.

Chicago on ANY summer weekend is far more dangerous then most warzones.
Far too often you will read of a service man, or woman completing their tours far away, only to die at home from some shit bag out on the street.
I'm North of there..... but it's still bad.

Just recently our Milwaukee mayor, just weeks before his election. His 13 year old nephew whom he proudly mentored, all over social media publicly making a name for themselves, lots of praise and support "Good Kid".... Well, he kidnapped, carjacked and Raped an over 80 year old lady, daytime outside our library..... just down the road from the Christmas Parade Massacre. Which happened just before. Yes, he still got elected.

& Not long ago, they burned cities, looted, and murdered. all over the news

Yup, mayhem. It's not as simple as crime. It's organized, bought, and paid for...... Supported.
Worse than crime.

Coming to a city near You.......

my internal switch didn't flip until having our daughter born.

It took many intense years of Krav Maga before I was able to calm down, a little.

Crag the Brewer,
It was not a joke, more like sarcasm.
I am familiar about all that crime in the USA. I was never there but I can see it on TV.
I don't understand why. I haven't seen so much crime in any country in EU. Canada also does not have such a problem.
Must be something wrong with your system I guess.

I really want to reply to this.

I won't.

Why make a Moderator intervene?

Maybe, instead of talking about history and politics, we get back on topic?

Home defense.
