You might as well carry a gun as opposed to most knives mentioned in this thread.
Not sure there is a difference between having a "machete" or a "gun", as far as the law is concerned.
YMMV, some local laws may vary.
Don't believe everything you read on the net!
Strongly suggest you do your own research.
It sickens me to think you can walk down a sidewalk with a 60 cc Stihl chainsaw and draw zero attention.
But you strap a machete on your side, and there will be some calls.............
Pathetic if you consider the damage of each.
I'd be more nervous about the chainsaw to be honest.
What makes you nervous?
Consider the two for a moment.
Knife compared to chainsaw?
I'm not super nervous about either. Just saying if I had to choose, which would make me more so. I was actually supporting your point, as it sounded like a machete drawing calls while a Stihl didn't, sickened you. What makes you nervous?

But I don't think any law is being broken by someone walking down the street with a chainsaw.
God forbid someone walks down the street with a "large knife" on their hip, I would think they would draw more attention than the person with the chainsaw, just saying........
