I don't want to start a debate over which knife is the most american, as far manufacturing location, philanthropy, politics, etc. I was want to know which knife do you most closely associate with the good ol' US of A.
I've never seen a thread like this, so I thought I'd start one.
When I think of an American knife I think of the good old KaBar. I know they haven't been around around as long as other military knives, but I remember them being the knife that every soldier had, and the few people that I knew from high school that joined the military were proud to show of their leather handled, high carbon, enemy killing machine. LOL!
I know there's going to be some good stories out there. Let's hear them.

Kabar-type or Bowie...nothing else comes to mind...but I'm not a historian.

ka-bar, or randall made. never owned either, but when i think AMERICAN KNIFE, they immediately come to mind.

someday ill get my hands on a randall. :) maybe a ka-bar too.

I would say the Buck 110. IMO, is the most influential American knife ever.

The same: Bowie knife and Buck 110.

Rambo knife all the way.

The first one that comes to mind is the Buck 110 or 112. If I thought about it for a while, I guess there are others that are very American but the Buck really screams American to me.

Definitely the Buck 110 or Kabar for me.

Not many knives out there more American

If we're talking design, the Bowie knife design is the most recognized as an American knife.
