What knife does/did your mom carry?

None. My mom and dad didn't carry any knives, and my dad bought one only because I went in to scouts. They didn't have knives or guns to their person, and my mom (the living parent) hates guns, cars, knives, swords, motocycles, etc. It's probably how I ended up such a loser. They hate coolness so never urged me to succeed to be cooler or happier.

My mom was very anti knives, her uncle had been stabbed in his store by a teenage thug who picked up a penknife from the box on the front counter and stabbed him with it.

A basic Swiss Army knife, I think. A few years ago I stumbled across some nice curly maple in a hardware store and finished an inexpensive Pakistani patch knife blade for her, the lower one in this pic:

The red dye and cat charm on the sheath were specific requests from her. I dunno if she still carries it, though.

My sons' mom (lol) carries a Chive, a SAK Classic SD tie dye, and a SOG Micron. The first two in her pocket every day, and the Micron on her key chain.

My mom has a spyderco dragonfly salt in the kitchen and a leatherman multi in her 4runner
She asked to borrow them each at separate times and they became hers
I was glad though :D

Haha what a great question!

My mom is about to carry a Microtech UTX 70 soon. I think my dads getting her one in a few days.

Otherwise as of right now, her Shun chef's knife since that's where she spends all her time XD

Before my parents got married my mom worked in the family nursery ... this was in the 1950s. Used the Joseph Rodgers as a pruning knife when she didn't have shears at hand. Later in life she carried a pair of folding scissors in her bag rather than a knife.

That's a great bit of history behind that knife. A real family heirloom

Dan, my Mom has been gone for 8 years now so I can’t ask her. As a kid I remember her having some really tiny knife, about the size of a Victorinox Classic. If I remember correctly it had 2 blades. I will say this about her though, she could wield a paring knife in the kitchen like nobody I’ve ever seen. Everything was peeled with that knife and I never saw her cut herself...ever.
