What knife have you given as a gift the most frequently?

I've given-away 4 or 5 Spyderco Delicas over the years, and maybe 3 LM Micras.

Victorinox - the little ones with the scissors or the golf model- a few spyderco- for the worker blades and the last couple were sebenza... a fly model to one of my pastors and a calvary to one of my best friends.... and my brother is to get this as soon as I contact him again on shipping....

No contest for me. :) Although I've given a few CRKT M-16's to guys that wanted one.., by far the Laguiole folders, and Corkscrew knives lead the way as gifts for me. Very classy knives.., even for non-Knife Nuts.

I make knives, and probably give away 3/4's of them. Looking into selling them (some) now, to try and cover the cost of the materials, but I'm really just in it for fun right now, so I give away anything I don't have a specific use for.
List of recipients is gettin fairly long, and the list of people giving hints is longer so I guess I'm doin something right ;)
Its been kind of lopsided with giving away hunters, folders, and utility type knives to all the guys in the family and some friends. The women folk is startin to get upset with me, I'm goin to have to learn how to make kitchen knives pretty soon or I'll be eatin out an awful lot :D

how about those cheap French "Opinel's" with the fancy ring-lock? they're cheap, reliable, extr.lightweight and very sharp. an Opinel nr.6,7 or 8 makes for a nice usable knife and a nr.2 if you want to play a joke on the person you're giving it to ;-)

Cold Steel El Lobo. Gave two to a buddy.
Victorinox SAK for my dad. Buck .75" bottlecap thingie for my brother. This Christmas, I hope my family likes the new mini-Griptillians in plain-edge with the various colored handles, because that's what they're getting.

;)

SAK Tinker. I've given away a dozen or so over the years. I buy several whenever I see'em on sale and thow'em in a drawer for the next person I deem a suitable knife recipient. Sheeple friendly, inexpensive, and non-knife people (which, let's face it, are most people) are more likely to see them as tools. Men or women. I don't like to give women the tiny key chain models. The size is harder to use, for real knife tasks, and don't have the usable tools. Plus, I would consider it discrimintory and demeaning to give my buddy Jannette one of those tiny blade and fingernail file models and have her find out that I gave my buddy Roy a Tinker. It's like giving a woman a .25 auto for home protection, when what she really needs is a nice 4" .38 Special. Besides, Why give them a little knife when, hey, they have more room than we do guys. Purses! They have purses! How many EDC's would you have if you carried a big, leather purse??!~! ;-)

Victornox classics and cadets. The small ones. These folding knifes always show excellent workmanship and are perfect everyday pocket knifes.
:D

The most recent gift was a shrade folder to my dad. He uses it for digging when out with his metal detector. For Christmas I gave my father in law, who is an electrician, a spyderco Kiwi. He loves it and carries it every day. It is a great gift knife for the older guys. I am getting one for my dad for his birthday.

I like to give gerbers and spydercos to my not so deserving friends at work who needed one but didnt know it.

be safe,
Mike

The best knives I ever gave were these BM 806s to my groomsmen.

WHat's a SAK? Everyone's giving SAKs? I've never heard os SAK. Is it something to put a sleeping bag in?

Seriously, what does SAK stand for please?

I really don't have enough money to give away very expensive knives... But I like to give away a quality knife I'd use myself. The knife I've given away most is the Columbia River Knife and Tool Mirage... both sizes. They are good quality, simple and not too expensive for me.

Anyhow, you asked... I've given away plenty. I use and carry them too, of course.

Bill,
Swiss Army Knife

I have given several mirages away as well. Another great knife.

Just gave my Microtech SOCOM Elite-A away last night to my good friend who just got activated from reserve status in the Marines a few weeks ago. I went to visit him right before he left for Kuwait this morning. I figure he'll need it more than I will.

It's not really a knife. . .per se. . . .but I've given away a bunch of Leatherman Micra's. :D

I've also given away quite a few Leatherman Super Tool's in the last several years.

I've given several away, never really the same make or model. I always thought they make great gifts, because I always like getting them. I've never seen the one's I've given away, being carried or used much though. I'm not sure what to think about that.
