What knife is best for self defense?

A knife designed for self defense, an Anton Wingen Jr., Othello D/E dagger. Carried vertically, tip up, in a side chest sheath, under a sacrificial button down shirt.

Do you have, or have you seen such a thing? Pics? Sounds deadly.

Chris.

I can only wish. Ban's making his own knives now. Maybe we could get an Anorexic WarBoar LE in the future.

concealed fixed blades are as a rule illegal in Ohio. Your CCW does not transfer to knives in our wonderful state. If an officer wanted to push it in some jourisdictions, having a one hand opening folder totally concealed in your pocket could be construed as a concealed weapon.

To think Im less then an hour from this state, boy did I get lucky. If it werent for Busse and Cedar Point, Id hate that place

*1 For the HG55. The Hell Razor, SJTAC, and the Jack Hammer would work well also. If I had a chance to grab a blade from my safe, I would grab my AK. It goes without saying, that I would grab my firearm first.

About the only place I don't carry a gun, is at work, and my edc is a Rodent Solution. Accompanying a handgun is often a War Dog or Spyderco resilience. As an extension to my Kali training, I'm looking forward to getting my Nuclear Ratmandu, but doubt it will really get carried much.

That Ice Pick thing Busse made a while ago. Or a normal $2 ice pick from WalMart would work, AND you don't have to feel bad about leaving it at the scene.

In terms of SD, I've yet to see a knife as effective as a kerambit for damage dealing. However you do need some training to use it.

Bingo.
My favorite defensive line.

But I would definitely use up all 15+1 rounds of 45acp, plus spare mags if I had the chance before switching to the blades. ;)

Just looking for some opinions on what knife would be the best for self defense. Something concealable and can cause major damage if the situation arises.
I had a great time talking about this subject with a few guys at the Dayton show. I also think that I have a new knife that I need to buy.;)

I would have to go with the Sus Scrofa. First of all the handle for me is perfectly designed. Second, it is a pointy SOB. Last, the re curve blade would draw whatever was being cut into the heart of the cutting surface. What do you guys think and why.

I thought I showed you , but I took this to blade this last year. Wicked little knife... similar to warboar but still a very practical cutter:thumbup:

A true fighting knife should be at least 7 inches to penitate the heart and lungs from the shoulder to the heart or under the rib cage in a upward motion, run it through the neck and push outwards ,,If you sneak up on the emeny,,if your face to face still the 7 inch or better work well but the winner will be the one who cuts flesh and tendends, you slice a arm or leg deep enought your advisary will lost the ability to fight back,,then go in for the kill,,,,,So as for Busse and kin,I say the Jackhammer,,the TG and i do like the Rat Taz,,Now I would bring my peronal favorite my custom shop Bolo,,the blade a little long but is thin,,and my second choice the Jackhammer that sucker would go through a thick leather coat to disable your enemy,,

I hope I never get into a knife fight but if I do, I hope this is the one I am carrying.

The one you have on you when you need it IMO.

Dont carry a knife just because someone says it's best. More than likely, you will never ever get to pull it out in that situation, or worse, get stabbed by your own knife. Carry a functional knife as a tool, and hope you avoid that type of situation by using your head. Stay away from seedy areas, avoid trouble (high crime or threat areas)spots, always move with a buddy, keep in lighted areas and dont look like a target (ie...flashing money, dressing to the max and flaunting what you have or dont have).
