What knife would you buy for your girlfriend?

Mine has a Gerber AR 3.00 and likes it. She has a Al Mar Falcon too, but the blade is a bit thin.

She like Griptilians in any size.

I've bought three Kershaws (Black Scallion, Mini Mojo, and a Needs Work) and a SAK Cybertool 34 for my girlfriend. She likes all of them, but the Mini Mojo (now called the Mini Mojito) is by far her favorite. It is a good size to use around other people (she'd probably have appropriated my Spec Bump by now, otherwise). The Mini Mojitos marked July '07 or later will have Sandvik 13C26 blades. The safety is integrated into the flipper, so I would think it would be easy to use with gloves.

All my girlfriends past and present were given and taught how to use a balisong. The Cold Steel Arc Angel is currently the preferred choice since it has a pockt clip.

I would get her one that clips easily onto a garter belt (and comes off just as easily).

Here's my take. If all you are going to do is cut boxes one of the folding box cutters would be about perfect. Superknife blades are thicker than the blades from the hardware store and will last a long time and can be resharpened. Don't know about the others. The leek, if you like it and feel it will do what you want would be a great knife and isn't overly big so shouldn't cause mass panic in public. It is reasonably priced as well and the assisted opening helps when the other hand is occupied. Assisted opening knives could be a problem in some areas, make sure of local, state laws before buying.

Maybe a Byrd Robin or Meadowlark depending on size desired. G-10 or FRN handle depending on weight/feel. The pink mini-grip looks pretty cool, too much blade for my wife though. I bought her a SAK Midnite Mgr. for her purse. She's definately not a knife knut though.

Little over a year ago my girlfriend noticed a Schrade Minuteman slipjoint I had, took it for her own and really likes it ... uses it a lot, and regularly gives it to me for a touch-up sharpening and cleaning/oiling. She seems to use the little pen blade the most, and says the handle, just under 3", is a great size and carries nicely in her purse.

Wifey got a BM Snody Activator fixed blade in D2 for camping and a BM Osborne Opportunist in s30v for edc - she enjoys them both. Traditional looks with modern capabilities.

I bought my girlfriend a Spyderco Poliwog and she loves it. Its a great EDC.

If I had one, I'd be smart and take her with me... Rather get her something she likes than surprise her with something she doesn't.

Welcome to the forum animanna :)
another vote for benchmade griptilian! when I got it she teased me about how it's such a guy thing to "pop" it open with the axis lock, then she took it as her own and now "pops" it all the time! She says it fits her small hands very good. The mini-griptilian would be nice too.

She also "confiscated" my Falkniven F1! she says it's her favorite fix blade, for feel/fit/and use, she also likes the way it looks :D

My wife thinks it's really cool when we have the same knife in different sizes

Large Sebenza - Small sebenza
Microtech UT6 - Microtech UTX70
Spyderco military - Spyderco delica (look close to the same)
BM 630 - BM 635
Strider SnG - Working on having a Strider PT with pink G10 made

There are many two-size knives so you can match

Geoff, you're starting to scare me, Bro. You don't do the same thing with socks and stuff, do ya? :D

Most recent(girlfriend and knife) was an etched Dragonfly from Spyderco. Went over really well, and she always has it in her pocket when wearing jeans, or clipped in the side of her wallet the rest of the time.
I really think that a Calypso Jr. ltwt. is the best choice, but the new D'fly is a really good looking knife.

I have bought my fiance' a couple of knives over the last year and a half...but I can't get her all that interested in them. I bought here a pink SAK, and a Schrade "florist's knife" for cutting her flowers and such. I have bought a few knives for my daughter as well, going to get her a pink leek or chive for Christmas I think.
