What knife would you choose...

Of my current Blades My Gladius, if thats too much of a sword my kukri with my Kabar as a backup.

If I had time to shop it would be A Smachetti or a costom bowie by Morning Star.:)

Wait can I have my battle axe!!:D

My gang at AR15.com will be proud of me ( or extremely disappointed ) for making THIS my very first post:

When it comes to zombies, the best blade you can use is an old school AR15 ( in the M16A1 type pattern ) firing lighter ( 55 grain or lower ) bullets in a barrel with the old 1 in 12 twist.

Fighting Zombies is an everyday experience for me and I use a Busse Battle Mistress. It has never failed me yet. :)

Of the knives that I own, I'd pick my (stainless) Cold Steel Trailmaster Bowie.
Of the knives that I don't own, (but would if I could), it would be an original Bill Bagwell Hell's Belle.

A man after my own heart... although my CS TM is Carbon V :) I would choose an old-style Viking sword, if I had any knowledge or experience in how to use them.

BTW Glockman99, I hope you're storing your blades in appropriate sheaths now! Or at least, not right behind your chair where ya hide the bong...

I would take my Busse AK-47. After all, surviving the zombie uprising is what that thing was made for :p If I can't take a sword, I would have to take my Busse HOGFSH. Actually, I would take both

May I suggest we collaborate and put together a list of features a zombie-slaying-blade should have? I'm sure it could lead to a very profitable production line for some intrepid marketer :D

Reach is very important, you will want to be as far away from the zombie as possible. Less chance of getting bitten and less chance of getting infected blood spatter in your mouth/eyes/whatever (though you should be wearing some kind of mask).

If it's a Romero-esque end of the world fighting-zombies-for-the-rest-of-your-life type of scenario, you'll want it to be durable and as close to unbreakable as possible.

You will also want it to be as light as possible (without interfering with the above requirements too much), so you won't become exhausted after just a few swings. Also you will probably have to run while carrying it so weight is a factor.

For zombie uprisings I always reach for my Himalayan Imports Falcata. It has always removed those pesky zombie heads with one swipe and keeps me clean in the process. ;) Zombie guts DO stink!! Instant head removal is the only sanitary way I know of.
Zombies know its name and fear it.

Of the knives I actually own, I'd choose my Fallkniven A1. If I could choose any, and money was no object, I'd choose something like this, or perhaps this :D

Luckily, my katana was made in the fires of Mt. Doom and can cut through boulders, bricks, evil robots, and trees all with one slice. Zombies shouldn't be much of a problem for it.

Hey now that we are hyped, what about vampires? The only problems is that the weapon would have to be made of wood.

Are we talking about slow moving old school zombies, or the newer fast moving zombies? -Well, I've got an old ww2 japanese officers sword that should work well either way I guess. I just really hope they wont be the fast ones.
