What Knife You Bought Have You Owned The Longest?

Buck 110 two-dot I bought new for myself in 1979. 440C steel. I wasn't into knives at the time, just needed it for work and it fit the requirements.

It and the leather belt sheath are still in very good condition. It was carried a lot and used rather little, though the bolsters do show that I must have at one time needed a hammer and all I had was the Buck.

Buck 102 Woodsman. Bought it from the Ft. Carson PX - 4 seasons shop. Would have been probably 1974 - 75. Love the knife.

Still if I had known about Loveless back then....

I've got a feeling that knife could tell some stories.
Thank you very much @315 and @arizonaranchman for the kind remarks . There are people out there who will probably beat that and that knife has been a bunch of places and could tell a lot of stories . In my previous life I worked in the Construction Division and then the Ag Division for a major U.S. manufacturer and had many opportunities to travel back in the days when I could Carry On a knife and then I put it into my luggage after I retired . It has many miles on it and has seen many Customers and Suppliers and Motels .

Kershaw blackout in 2001. Carried daily for work. Still have it, great knife.
Traditional: Queen copperhead, maybe 2012?

Buck 309 Companion.. Bought it with my paper route money at the ripe old age of 14.. I am 60 now and I still have that knife.. Carried it all thru JR-SR Hi School and beyond.. Paid 18.00 for it at a local archery shop.. Store now closed.. John

I've had a Colonial Forest-Master since 1960, but it was a gift. I don't think I actually bought a knife until I became re-interested in pocket knives in January 2014. I stopped at Walmart on my way to work one day in early February 2014 and bought this pair of Chinese Bucks in a clamshell package. I gave away the Buck Solo (on the right) but still have the Buck 373 Trio (Chinese-made version of the 303).

The first folding knife I bought was a Buck 110 during the summer of 1973 with some of my HS graduation money.

My first personally bought fixed blade was actually 3 fixed blades bought at the same time mid-August 1976 using part of the pay I received as a Midshipman during my MIDN 1st Class cruise, at an Army/Navy Surplus store in College Station TX::
- a Kabar WW2 1219C2
- a Camillus WW2 USN MK1
- an 1866 Chassepot Bayonet

Mine were entirely lost in a house fire, so now it would be a tossup between a Dozier Arkansas Toothpick, Case wharnie Mini-Copperhead, or a Benchmade/Emerson collabo.
Thanks, Neal.

My very first, an automatic Bargeon, don't know why I bought her (for peanuts, I admit), back in 71, in Ardèche - the French hippie country then - never used, forgot her until I re -discovered her one day in my daughter's bag when she was hangin' around with punks and rastas... :(:)
Now she's a 45 yo nurse, mother of an 8 1/2 yo boy! :D
And I still don't know why I bought her...(the knife, of course)

House fire, what a nightmare!! That's a beautifully cared for 73 Brimstone(?)liner lock, they're a top knife!

This is a “carved pumpkin” bone #73L. I bought it in 2008 and have used it a bunch. I’ve used it to field dress deer on many occasions, I had to cut off a few feet of drip line off the axel of an old John Deere on the farm and a bunch of other chores. It’s a keeper!

We found some old Barlows, scout knives & electrician knives in a box in my Mother's attic a few years ago when we were cleaning out her house before auction. They were all knives that I bought or had given to me when I was a kid in the 50's or 60's. I gave them to my son, and I don't technically have them so maybe they don't count?

I have a camillus survival knife that was issued to me when I was in the Marines in 1966, but I didn't actually buy it, so I guess that one doesn't count either.

OK....I have in my possession an Uncle Henry stockman that I bought in 1970 at a truck stop. It's the first knife that I paid over $20 for & it was my everyday carry knife for over 30 years. It's the one in the middle. (Recycled pic.)

My childhood traditional knives are long gone. (A variety of SAKs) I have a couple of long held knives but they aren't traditional so I won't post them. They are both mall ninja specials though:)
I really don't think I could nail down the traditional that I have had the longest, but this Buck Would be in the running:

Somewhere I have a little Japanese slip joint I was given when I was like 10-11 (circa 1985) but in terms of knives that I use... 2008 liner lock GEC 23 bear clawed that my wife got me as a gift (the only time she truly blew my mind with a gift).

The knife I've had the longest that I purchased new is my Schrade Walden 8OT stockman from the early 70's. It has been carried and used pretty regularly since junior high. I have older knives that I bought myself, but they weren't new at the time. And I still have my very first knife, a little Tuxedo penknife that I found when I was 7 years old.
