Which one of your knives has NEVER let you down?
Meaning:
-It has never failed
-you don't question hard uses
-you trust it for every job big or small
-maybe it has helped in an emergency of some sort
What knife that you have fits this criteria?
Why does it fit this criteria?
Preferably a folder, but fixed is OK
I get new knives, I carry my old knives, and I always end up back here. I know it well. I have no more questions or doubts.
I can carry with no wondering with this knife.

My blue Endura 4. The clip broke off last year. It's my beater knife but it's the one I always go back to.

My XM-18. I have never had a single issue with fit and finish lock-up or otherwise. Ad to that its just a fine-tuned monster. I have no doubt it would serve me very well in an emergency should the need arise.

is that the mini-ak?

I have recently purchased an Umnumzaan. I have confidence in this knife. I carry it every day.

When are you going to actually use it? :p

For me, it's the Spyderco Military or my ZT0560

I have never had a knife "let me down", but that may be because I only use knives for cutting. I also don't use folders for jobs that fixed are more suited for, and I don't use knives as screwdrivers, prybars, or hammers.

The only knife that will never let you down is the one that never holds you up, aka the one you never use. Technically speaking, safe queens are 100.00% reliable. Even the best user can let you down in a small way, even if it doesn't cause you a problem.

That said, my British Model 1913 bayonet has never disappointed me.

Spyderco Endura or Delica. I think I have close to twenty of the two models combined. My first Delica is retired with countless miles of hard use but is still serviceable. I have an Endura 3 with about 12 years every day carry on it that is also semi retired. Either model is on me nearly 24/7.

My Para2. Whether it's opening a package or tearing through big rolls of vinyl at work, it always works. I even whittled a stick with it..lol As far as fixed blade goes.. I have to go with my ESEE 3mil..

My MiniGrip. I don't even remember when I first got it, but definitely over 6 years by now. I don't worry about it and use it for whatever I need it to do. I've probably bought 50 knives hoping to carry something "nicer", including some real classics (I don't want to start anything) but always come back to this knife. To me, it's just an unbeatable combination of features for an EDC.

ZT 560 and a Strider SNG I have with the new lock geometry, which seems pretty solid. I'm sure my Umnumzaan or Micarta Insingo Sebenza would be fine as well, but I don't subject them to too much hard use and I WOULD question, at least a little, any use that would scratch their blade badly or break a tip or whatever (mostly with the Sebenza since the Insingo might not be around forever and it's already hard to find them with Micarta). Maybe I'll use a CRK enough one day that I can finally dedicate one to a completely unreserved "user", but for now I just don't want to be too rough on them :)

And I would include the PM2 and Millie in this too, but I've broken tips on them before. I don't do even the slightest bit of prying with a knife anymore, and I know some people don't have any trouble with their thin tips, but the fact that I've broken them with very light use just makes me feel like they're a little more fragile of a knife. Even though they're not, they're very tough, and they're some of my all-time favorites. :)
