What knives "clicked" for you?

The two most recent ones for me have been:

Hogue EX-04 (drop point). I thought they were somewhat homely, and I hate safeties on knives, but I decided to try one out anyway, because they had some unusual and cool features I wanted to see in the "flesh": oversized button lock, unusually ground blade, cool machined "Gmascus" G-10 scales with steel inserts at pivot end, and no washers. I got the 3.5" first, then the 4". The moment I got the first knife in hand, I was blown away. These knives ooze quality all around, are very ergonomic, and actually look really cool in real life. I now have two 3.5" models, 1 auto and 1 manual, and a 4" manual version.

ZT0900. I liked the looks of this one right off, but I was afraid it might be too small. After buying one, I found that the handle, while short, actually allows for a 4 finger grip with my medium sized hands, due to the way the handle is shaped. I love the blade shape and thickness and the knife's ergonomics (especially given it's size), and the combination of pivot bearings, perfect detent, and well shaped flipper make deployment a joy. As with the Hogues, the feeling of quality is unmistakable.

The EX-04 auto and ZT0900 have not left my pocket since I got them.

A little old fashion and some might say cheap,
but Opinel Knives have always fit in my hand perfectly and just proved to be a workhorse.
They might not be made out of supersteels or any fancy handles, but for around 15 bucks each, you can't beat them

Also, it hurts so much when you accidentally lose a custom knife.
There is just something about losing a Spiderco or a Benchmade that is disturbing.

CRKT heiho I'm actually surprised at how useful this blade shape is. It has been my edc for some time now.

Fist for me was the Paramilitary 2. More recently it was my XM-24 Spanto. I don't really even know why it's not to practical. The heft, the way it feels in my hand and loud ker-plunk when you flip it open just does it for me.

Delica and Endura - I bought my first pair back in '96 when they had the original molded pocket clip. Ever since then I have had at least a handful of each in the collection and rotation. More recently, the Manix II Lightweight - just perfect for me in every way:

I have had a few over the years but here are a few favorites:

Victoriox Pioneer. Loved it from the first.

Case Texas Jack

Puma Pounce. A surprise hit.

You know what I mean - you pick up the knife for the first time, say "yep", and put it in your pocket without a second thought... Where it will stay for the forseeable future, and hanging out with a few others while you take the others out for an occasional spin.

Here are mine:

- Kershaw-Emerson 4KXL: I picked this up on a whim, mostly because I like bigger knives, wave openers, and framelocks. I was blown away by the knife when I actually picked it up - smooth as butter, solid as a rock, sharp as all hell, and with a gorgeous two-tone finish on the blade. It's the only manual knife I carry anymore, and I like it loads more than any Emerson I've picked up to date. It's such a natural movement to wave it out of my pocket, use it, and fold it without even looking. I haven't had a knife feel so right since the Cold Steel Tuff Lite (which I'll probably be getting another of soon, since my new job isn't so keen on my fixation on bigger knives.)

- Protech Maple Burl Godather: This is the dead sexiest knife I've ever held, and it's everything I could ever want it to be. Every person I've shown it to has said these two things in this order: "This knife is awesome" and then "Where did you get this?". Probably the only knife that everyone has agreed was friggin' amazing, and I agree. A keeper for sure, and too fun to sell or keep sitting around just to look pretty.

- Protech TR 4.1: If it came down to it, this would be the knife I would keep if I had to pare down to just one knife. It's big, it's versatile, it's cozy, and it's solid. The stonewash is so heavy that I'm pretty sure I could drag it across concrete without it really changing the appearance, which means I never hesitate to use it. Also, it fires like a damn .45.

These three hang out on my bathroom counter next to my wallet. Here they are, not on my bathroom counter, but on my cheap-ass faux-marble table I bought on Amazon:

What knives have been instant permanent additions for you? Feel free to post pictures / stories.
The burl godfather is one of the coolest knives at any price range in the market!

The XM18... I had carried the ZT 562 for 2 years before getting an XM and haven't owned anything but XMs yet and don't see that changing. I have also not been without a Victorinox tinker, farmer or field master in a while

BM940: This knife resides in my pocket the majority of the time. It's smooth to open and close for a lefty, has great blade length and shape, light, and with a Contego pocket clip sits in my pocket just right. I carry a penlight and the 940 side by side in my pocket and it's still more comfortable than only carrying some of my other knives.

ZT0562: Love the way this knife handles, deploys, it's just too big for me to carry comfortably in an office setting.

BM950: bought it used back in '11 & carried it everyday since.. feels great in the hand, the axis lock is fast once you get used to it. Sharpens easy, used this knife for skinning & gutting deer & cutting my steak at the restaurant. .

XM-18 3.5 Slicer: For me, it's perfection. It's been a grail of mine ever since I first saw one and hasn't left my pocket since I got it.
Manix 2: Great ergos, great slicer, great value, great all around EDC.
ZT 0630: Waved framelock with great steel and blade shape. It just does it for me.

Honorable mentions:
Native 5
Launch 1

My DCL pocket fixed blade. Drew knows how to make a knife. I haven't carried a folder since I got it.

Couldn't help but notice your computer screen..that's my K2 and DCL Sheepie.

The Benchmade 761. Spark handed it to me at the shop to check out..I was back in less than a week to buy it. I sing it's praises often.

I recently picked up a PM2, for the longest time I didn't want to get it. To me it looked like an ugly knife and uncomfortable. But after handling one my mind was changed immediately.
Since i got it, the PM2 has been with me daily.

Nice! Unfortunately my camera flash was right where your DCL is. Now you need to post a solo pic of your DCL in this thread.
