I got a frost Cutlery made in Japan surgical steel folding boot knife. It has plastic stag scales and coffin handle. Big silver bolsters. Sharpened up nice, lockback. Lock up is very tight. 4" Closed. 3.25" spearpoint blade. I really like it for a cheapie! I also have a $100 Wally World GC, so I am going to try to pick up a buck 112, and the 2 knife buck slip joint set, and a remington three knife set, maybe a spyderco native. The fun is yet to come.
large wood inlaid Classic Sebenza (ironwood)
Pat Crawford Marauder folder
SOG Spec Bowie
I gave three knives as presents and I received three as presents.............next year I'm giving more!!
( of course I was the one who gave myself the presents)
I got a Spyderco Chinook III #189 of 200, a CRKT Bear Claw as a back-up knife for work and a Kershaw Spec Bump. I got my wife that darn Spyderco Dodo she wanted.
My wife, bless her heart, got me an Ontario RAT-7 in 1095. Bonus was that the grind lines on this one are totally symmetrical where Ontario is kind of hit and miss on the details.
I should have known something was up when she pulled it out from under the tree first.
I opened the box and a genuine grin crossed my face because it is always great to get a useful knife rather than have her guessing and getting me something I have to fake appreciating, ("Hey, it's a bigger RAT-5" was the total logic of her buy as she is only a kitchen knife gal), "Do you like it?"
"Yeah, it's fabulous honey."
"Good. Now you can cut down all of the cardboard from the kids' gifts that's coming out from under that tree."
It certainly did the job.
Got my only nephew who hunts a Buck Alpha Hunter with rosewood scales. I figured any incentive to keep him at it would be appreciated, and it was.
