Santa sent an old, mint Victorinox (an Outdoorsman that I've looked for over the the last two years or so) for the SAK collection.
For myself, I got a Randall Fireman (black Micarta handle with finger grooves). It was a surprise for me as I had forgotten I had ordered it about 1.5 years ago.
1st: I received a Very nice Buck Folder that looks like an Alpha but has Large Elk Panels and Lazer Etched Fighting Bucks in Gold on the Blade. The Blade only has "BUCK" on it with the symbol of an Anvil. This is a FOLDER with a heavy leather sheath. I was hopeing someone could fill me in as to the Blade Steel on this knife. 2nd: I received kind of a Gag knife. It is a Maxium Jumbo Folder. 18.75" long and Gigantic!!!! It is a Hoot. It is also dangerous as heck. Someone at the party picked it up and started to open and close it showing other people and I realized that if this person screws up just a bit someone is going to be severly injured. The lockup alone on this Brute is like a bear trap and the blade WAS Very Sharp. I had to retrieve the knife and stow it in its zipper case and draw attention to the food table to get folks to forget about it... Anyway, great Christmas, Good times. Everyone have a safe and happy New Year!!!! And watch out for the Gigantic Folding Knives!!!!
Got a Spyderco Spyderfly Rainbow (and a Spiderfire LED light). Nice smooth action, tho a bit bigger than I thought. Real pretty to look at and a great show piece...just wondering what use I have for it (tho, I always wanted a nice butterfly knife...so far, just had cheapies like Jaguars).
You guys are pissing me off; You got nice knives, I got (yes, I know, it is the thought that counts, but cheap steal disapoints me...LOL!), a Smith/Wesson "Taylor" knife/hatchet combo. My sister knows zero about knives... So I smiled and thanked her. Oh well, I can leave it up at camp...
I got three Opinels from my girlfriend -- a No. 4, a No. 6 with locking collar, and a standard No. 6. I was really happy to receive them, because I've been wanting an Opinel for a while now. She was even careful to order only the carbon steel versions, because she knew I didn't want stainless.
Got a Cold Steel Ti-Lite blue-anodized titanium (the quality and performance has actually surprised me..might start looking at Cold Steels again), a Spyderco Stretch and Impala (serrated without the guthook), and a BM42---all of those are awesome
I got a boker stockman with carbon steel blade which is awsome. I also got a Columbia River Desert Cruiser which is one slick knife and came shaving sharp
