What knives do Special Forces use?

Eddie Stone's choice of a "good sharp knife" might disgust some here! :)

I was a UH-60 Blackhawk crew chief/ machine gunner in the Army up until 2003 and i eas actually issued a Leatherman Wave. I liked it but if ya wasnt careful it would pinch the crap out of your hand

Interesting subject

I can't speak for the US military, but as a former british soldier, i used a Eka super swede for years as my folder and a buck nighthawk as my fixed. I have friends still in, and a lot use the gerber lmf and mora's as for folders, a lot use swiss army knives and gerber folders. When i was in belize in the 90's i had a issue kukri, and when i was in afghanistan/ iraq i bought a sog sealpup in a px, but lost it in a shooting match, and its probably on the beltkit of a terry taliban now haha....in short, in the units i served in nobody cared what you carried...

Again, in a thread about "What Knives Do Special Forces Use?"

you claimed

based on a manufacturer'd ad copy and the fact that you like them.

We have both agreed that ad copy should be taken with a grain of salt.

Which leaves the fact that you like them as your only evidence than Special Forces might use them.

And unless you are Special Forces, I don't see how that argument holds water.
Nope, my 'claim' was based on what I thought was common knowledge, but which evidently wasnt.
IMO fish swim, birds fly, MISSION has supplied knives and EOD tools to the military.
I understand you like their knives, that's cool. I don't understand how you liking them is evidence that Special Forces uses them.
It isnt. See above ....and below for that matter.

Only because you claimed something you can't prove except for that ad copy. Do you have anything else that proves your claim that spec ops operators use these knives? If not, then Marcinek is right.
Lol, take it easy, bubba:D:D:D:D And yes, I do. See below.

Anyway, I talked to MISSION. Here is part of what I was told by the friendly people there:

We have attached 2 screen shots of the early government order form for
the MPK12-Ti from the US Navy circa 1998. We have had numerous
government orders throughout the years for our MPK12-Ti, MPT-Ti and
titanium mine probes. The picture we included is a MPK12-Ti with the
Navy certified LoMu markings circa 2007. These were standard issue to
a number of Navy SEAL EOD units, which is shown by the engraving.
This was a buy back from a previously enlisted serviceman, which we
have here in the shop.

maybe they weren't really knives that were ordered but something else in disguise, and more useful like booze.

its a well known fact that booze is a high value commodity in places where it is hard to get i agree... but instead of sneaking it in in lieu of cutlery, it is most likely gotten the old fashioned way... black/grey market, or trading crap with european soldiers who are allowed to drink. at last, a use for the french.

There is a MISSION MPK knife in the pic:p

But thats of course no proof of anything to some persons.

Two SEAL unit members clobbering them on the head with the knives would not convince them:D

"But were they carried!!!" - hilarious:D:D:rolleyes:
